Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Yeah, he looks around Burns Manor and says it has old man stink. I doubt if it was Bret Hart's actual voice as he's not mentioned by name or credited at the end.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted September 18, 2002 No, it doesn't sound anything like him.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Like others have said, Bret is credited in that episode. Plus, there's a shot in Wrestling with Shadows of Bret and his kids watching that episode.
Guest papacita Report post Posted September 18, 2002 WWF Magazine did a whole article on it back in 97 when it originally aired.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Yeah he's credited at the end where they always put the "special guest star" credits.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 18, 2002 I think why some people say it doesn't sound like him is due to Hart probably exaggerating his speaking voice to sound more like a stereotypical wrestler.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted September 18, 2002 I was just about to say that Inc.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Real Estate Agent: "The Screaming Sheik lives just next door!" (distant shrieking is heard) Bret: "I'll take it!!" Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Much like many lines from The Simpsons, Bret's "Ooooh! This place got old man stink!" has found it's way into daily conversation more than once.
Guest Karnage Report post Posted September 19, 2002 Does anyone notice that when they show this episode in syndication, they cut out this whole scene with Bret Hart with Mr. Burns holding a painting and Bret calling him a pencil neck geek?
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 19, 2002 Every episode has a little bit cut out for syndication. Thank goodness for the DVDs.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted September 19, 2002 My all-time favourite Simpson's quote is cut out in syndication. Bastards.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 19, 2002 What is it? I can only remember when my favorite parts are cut out when I am actually watching the show in question.
Guest papacita Report post Posted September 19, 2002 Why do they cut out parts in syndication? They cut out one of my favorite parts of the "Who Shot Mr. Burns" episode.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 19, 2002 Why do they cut out parts in syndication? To make room for more commercials.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted September 19, 2002 From the episode Bart on the Road (where Bart gets his drivers liscense, and him, Nelson, Milhouse, and Martin go on their road trip). When they're driving down the road, and they pass the station wagon with the kids screaming in the back. The dad says, 'If you kids can't keep your hands to yourselves, I'm gonna turn this car around, and there'll be no Cape Canaveral for anybody!' The kids shut up, but then, Nelson sticks his hand out the open window, and smacks the dad on the back of the head. What follows is (for whatever reason), my favourite Simpson's quote of all time: 'That's it! Back to Winnipeg!' He then slams on the breaks, and turns around the car. I don't know why I find it that funny (I've never even been to Winnipeg), I just do.

Timing in that show is untouched by anything before or since, that's always got something to do with the funniest bits. Also, the notion of saying something absolutely blatantly ridiculous in a perfectly casual manner accounts for many of the laughs. Awesome.
