Adult Swim

I watched Raw on Monday and there were a few commercials for a program on Cartoon Network called "Adult Swim", introduced by some fat guy that looked like a fatter and hairier Mean Gene Okerlund.

What is Adult Swim? And what show is "Mean Gene" on?

I'm looking at Shaved Bear for a explanation here...

Adult Swim is a 3 hour block of cartoons and there's actually two versions a Saturday or Friday Night Anime version and Sunday night comedy version. "Mean Gene" is on the Sunday Night comedy version. Adult swim the comedy version mainly features cartoons with odd ball humor and isn't for everyone.

"Mean Gene" is on Aqua Teen: Hunger Force...

Yeah that's the real name :coughs: but don't judge a show by its name alone.

Basically, Adult Swim is two nights of Cartoon Network programming aimed at an older audience.

There's a Saturday night version, featuring nothing but anime (Cowboy Bebop, Gundam and some others). And a Sunday night version, featuring comedic shows (Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, Aqua Teen and some others), as El Satanico said.

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is fucking stupid... and worse, its not even "funny" fucking stupid. Have you seen where they try and pimp 1-800-COLLECT with that shit? It's disgusting!

Blah. I find the antics of a talking pistacchio milkshake and a ball of unprocessed meat funny. But that's just me I guess.

Uh...yeah. Utterly appalling. Hmm.

I don't find the Aqua Teens themselves funny either. But Carl makes the show. He's the friggin man. It's nowhere near as funny as Sealab is or the original Birdman show was. But it's funny.

Whoa there calm down it's just a cartoon about a ball of meat, a milkshake, french fires and a hairy dude. It not like it's the reanimated corpse of Shakespeare trying to get you to buy tires. A cartoon about meat, a shake, fries and a hairy dude advertising for AT&T isn't the end of the universe.

Oh yeah...and i find entertainment from Aqua Teens and that's all i care about. Besides i have an odd sense of humor so bah.

The only Adult Swim comedy show that i watch regulary that gets a blah to me is The Brak Show. I mean Brak and Zorak are funny and all, but the show is kinda pointless and it isn't anything different from what they do on Space Ghost coast to coast. I wouldn't mind a Brak show, but i think they can do better.

Harvey Birdman, Brak, and Space Ghost best series of orginal content on Cartoon Network ever

Anime night Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star great, while Pilot Canidate is just plain confusing as to why it is the late show with a warning

I downloaded a few episodes of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", and its both utterly retarded and pointless yet hillariously funny at the same time.

Carl is my idol.

The 1st couple episodes of Brak were great, especially the one where they utilize the Time Shed. But after those 1st few, the rest were sort of blah.

Aqua Teen, Sealab, & Harvey Birdman I can't get enough of.

I don't see what the problem with Brak is. That show rules. Thunderclease is the man. Brak's parents are hilariously weird. That show has never not made me laugh.

The show that I'm bummed out about is Birdman. The original two episodes with Jonny Quest and Apache Chief were absolutely hysterical. The shows that they've played since it came back on have been as terrible as terrible can get. Not funny in the least.

Personally, I like Space Ghost: Coast to Coast a whole lot, and same goes for the Brak Show. The Oblongs and Mision Hill can be very funny, too.

The Birdman show with him as an atorney at law is rather strange, but has it's moments.

sealab 2021 is my absolute favorite. not only does it have that great random adult swim humor, but it's cruel and sadistic and dark. at the end of almost every episode, they're all either dead or going to die. brilliant, brilliant stuff.

aqua teen hunger force is 2nd favorite, being the most random show they have. meatwad is hysterical, over the summer a friend of mine & i took turns annoying all our friends by saying "do what now?" in the meatwad voice for hours at a time.

brak show tends to be really good, but not quite genius except for a few episodes.

birdman is pretty good.

space ghost is, of course, golden.

i'm probably the odd man out, but i love home movies. it's almost as funny as the top 2, just funny in a different way.

the rest is a little blah, but overall i think it's the funniest thing on television and a .9 on the monty python comic brilliance scale.

The only thing I watch on Cartoon Network: Space Ghost, Coast to Coast! That show is absolutely genius. Truly funny. They had Randy Savage as a special voice, playing Space Ghost's grandfather.

Grandpa: "OOOOH YEAH!"

Zorak: "Isn't that Randy Savage?"

Space Ghost: "No! It sounds...nothing like him at all..."

I always wondered how they get the guests to communicate with the cartoon. It seems unscripted in that the guests just kinda react to what's going on in the cartoon (which in turn reacts). So, anyone know how they film the show if there's not a script?

Aqua Teen Force is ok the only episodes that I like is the one with the rapper pimping candy which turns out to be a spider, and the one with the moon aliens fronting as if they are superior with their technology, which turns out to be ATARI-ish guns.

the Meatball is a moron
