The Rock swerve was probably my all time favorite.

It was so well executed.

I just want to point out that writing for the WWF cannot be as easy as you people make it out to be.

I can understand if there are somethings he didn't like about the show.  If there was anything he liked about raw, he didn't state them there.  Which brings me back to the point: if it was so bad, why sit through it.

I was entertained my raw.  It wasn't my favorite raw of all time, but it entertained me nonetheless.

"Wasn't Christian one of those "up and coming young lions" just a couple of months ago? (Remember how JR used to always call HHH and Rock that back in 1998-1999?) Now he QUITS the federation on Thursday and no one even mentions it?"

Point taken.

"Why are they talking about Mr. Perfect's "perfect record" when he lost last week?"

Just like someone mentioned before, he played it off as an exhibition....the gimmick is that the Mr. Perfect of 2002, just isn't perfect anymore.

"Was JR's reference to RVD's "altered state" an inside joke or just JR being a hick who couldn't think of the right word?"

I didn't even notice JR making the comment.

"Remember when Billy Gunn and his tag team partner beat up the APA at the Friendly Tap 2 years ago? No? So was Billy NOT gay then and gay now? And why does Tim White have "Men's Night" at his bar? And for some roughnecks, Bradshaw and Faarooq sure get all spooked around gay guys."

Well...lets see....you had a guy named Mr. Ass, who's tag partner would pretend he was BUTT humping you before he did his finish...oh, and they asked everyone to suck it.  I think they were gay then, just not out of the closet.  The aPa are so "macho" that they would natually be homophobes.

"I thought Stephanie liked Kurt Angle."

The point here was that it didn't matter who won, she'd be on their side regardless.  She was better off not interfering and seeing who came out on top.

"Did they blow an easy Jericho-Steph-HHH love triangle or what? Now that HHH doesn't even care what Steph does, there's no reason at all to have her involved in this story."

She's involved because she's a psychological advantage that Jericho has over HHH.  He might not care what she does these days, but he will if it has to do with him and his WM shot....and it usually does.

Also, a Jericho-Steph love triangle wouldn't really make that much sense, because while most of the time that HHH was out, Steph was sending Alliance guys to kill Jericho (Rhyno, RVD, etc.)

"What the hell was Ric Flair doing showing up at 10:40 anyway? Why not just stay home?"

Hey, owners perk.  Vince has arrived as the show was ending a few times....usually to interfere in matches.

"If Arn Anderson "can't use his left arm," why would they send him out to help Molly?"

JR oversold how bad his left arm is.  He can't wrestle anymore because of it, but he can still check on someone's condition.  Its not like he had to do a lot of heavy lifting...

"Undertaker's hood is WAY too big. He looks like he's in the KKK."

Ok, now that's just plain ol' nitpicking.

"Opened wide up?"

It's not as good as "Thats why I kicked your leg out of your leg!"

"It's not a good thing when I can clearly hear everything Jazz is saying. And you thought Test had no heat."

Maybe if her matches or her title had any meaning behind them, there would be a reason for her to get heat.

"If you can't think of anything to do with Booker T, just let him wrestle someone or keep him off the show. Unless this is leading to some angle with Tajiri, I see no point."

He did wrestle tonight.  With the WWF going to Japan in 2 weeks, I can see it going in other directions other than a feud with Tajiri..which really wouldn't make mush sense.

The reason I liked the Rock's turn so much was that it was logical for him to turn on the fans.

They had chanted "Rocky sucks" so he had to turn heel in the first place.  Then he got really good as a heel...and eventually got real popular,

It made SO much sense for him to turn on the fans after winning the title.

And the execution was wonderful.

Everyone was cheering that Rock had won...and then they find out he's the bad guy.

Brilliant.

They tried that with Austin at MAnia...didn't work nearly as well.

Well I think we all know that booking isn't as easy as some think it may be, but clearly this is not what should it should be leading in to the biggest show of the year (and something being hyped as the biggest EVER). I have never in any year of watching the WWF seen the booking this dull leading up to Mania (been watching since 86). To be on "their" side I would be willing to bet most of the problem is pure burnout. Who knows.......either that or it's just doesn't make sense for a woman, especially one who plays a heavy on air role, to be a major part of the booking. Got me!

And I really think they could easily still do a Jericho-Steph love triangle deal.......I always assumed actually when she ran in during that first Rock-Jericho match that it would end up being revealed she actually purposefully helped Jericho win since she was secretly having an affair with him. Seems logical to me. By that point you could just say that Steph tried everyway to get Jericho down and he fought all them off.......and that ended up turning her on or something. But it was never followed up on....at all. And I don't really think it ever will.

"JR oversold how bad his left arm is"

I remember JR apologizing in his Ross Report for overselling Rikishi's heel turn... that was funny.

You know, I really don't know where the Rikishi heel turn went wrong.  Had HHH not been revealed as the mastermind behind the car attack, what do you think would have happened with Rikishi?

Don't say worse match quality, cuz thats a given.

I thought Rikishi was an odd choice to be the mystery driver... It shoulda been Essa Rios.  Now there's some talent!

I just don't think Rikishi had the credibility to be the driver. He hadn't beaten any of the top dogs (Rock, Trips, Benoit (kor doesn't count) and the reasoning was just weak. i liked his racism excuse, shouting out at all the great samoan wrestlers but they never developed it for a rock heel turn. why run over one great white hope for another in Trips? Was Steph writing by this time?

Rikishi is an oddity.

He's very popular and yet has virtually no fan support to be a top guy.

This is where a good deal of my RVD support comes from.  RVD was tested as a top guy and the fans wanted it.  Remember when they thought he won the title?

Rikishi never had that fan support to be a top guy.

Here's a true money angle for me.

Everyone is looking for who hit Austin, and its revealed that its HBK.  Would have made sense, since he would have been helping his buddy HHH.  The motive...simple really.  He could bring up the fact that his last match was against Austin for the title and he had to retire because of the injuries suffered in that match.  He wanted Austin to feel how he felt, unable to step into the ring and compete for HIS title.

Ahhh...if only HBK could have been physically fit to wrestle again, that would have been the best way to end that "whodunit"

I agree Dames. HBK was rumoured at the time too. but the WWF doesn't care if they make sense and that's an insult to people like me who actually want a coherent , organized product.

If i'm not mistaken, once HHH was revealed as the driver, Rikishi said that he was just using that whole "great white hope" speech to put the blame elsewhere and that he didn't mean any of it.

Steph didn't start writing until a little after HHH was hurt I believe.

it wasn't Rikishi's fault either. he was just another victim....of poor writing. then he got hurt and lost his heat, dancing, partners, and moveset. he is done!

Well, once I get my degree in Communications, I'm going to try and make you guys proud.  I know Brian Gewertz, and we've exchanged ideas around before.  He thinks that I got what it takes, all I need is a degree.  Hopefully, I can see first hand wtf is going on in the minds up in Titan Towers.

The writing sucks because the "creative team" thinks they're writing a GOD DAMN sitcom! Wheather it's Steph writing this shit or not, enough with the soap opera crap. Raw isn't Friends, so why book it that way. The WWF became real big (During the Russo years) on "macho" storylines and T & A. Now feuds start over spilled coffee (Remember that one) lots and lots of bad overacting. What happened to the "macho" storylines?

I agree, it seems every single wrestler has to be funny now. Which would be fine, if they actually *were* funny. Booker is a prime example of this, he's been stuck in comedy roles which are just poor. That shampoo thing on RAW was just dismal.

Steph was writing then. It was reported that she bragged about booking Survivor Series 2000 herself.
