No Mercy 01 dvd

I'm considering buying WWF No Mercy 01 on dvd, but I don't know if there are any extras, like matches from RAW or Smackdown! or something like that. If so, what are they? Thanks for any information.

I'm actually thinking about buying the No Mercy 2001 DVD. Then, I'll just need Vengeance 2001, Unforgiven 2001, and the King of the Ring 2001 to complete the 2001 PPV collection.

There is absolutely dick-all on the No Mercy 2001 DVD in terms of special features.

There's nothing in the way of extras for No Mercy 2001. I liked the show though, so that's why I bought it.

In fact, I think NM and Vengeance are the only two PPVs on DVD without extras, anybody wanna clarify that?

I think you might be right actually. Even though I only have Backlash 2002 and Judgment Day 2002 on DVD, in looking on the back, it doesn't say anything about extras, yet on the other WWE DVDs, there are extras. I haven't seen the Royal Rumble DVD, though.

If you mean Rumble 2001, it has extras, so does 2002. They suck ass, but they're extras nonetheless.

I thought there were extras on all the WWE DVDs.

Oh well, I've already got No Way Out on video, and I'll hopefully be getting Unforgiven 2001 within the next week or so.

That's cool cuz I want No Mercy on dvd. I don't have a dvd player yet, so I bought it on VHS and man does the WWE put out sucky VHS tapes now, recorded in super crappy EP. I only watched it once cuz of that. besides, match selection is pretty cool, cuz unlike VHS you won't have to fastforward or rewind to find a match you want to watch)

That's the best part about buying a WWE PPV on DVD....You can skip the matches that are boring without having to waste time fast forwarding through every match. :headbang:

Jericholic82: When did the WWE start putting their PPVs on VHS in EP format (which PPV was the first)?

Just wondering because I'm planning to buy some of the newer videos (from 2001) and curious if they did that on those video's. Thanks.

Unless you get one of the Attitude series suckfests. No chapter breaks + crappy shows = me no buy.

I could be wrong but I believe most if not all the WWF/E home videos are taped in EP. However, Coliseum Home Video was SP.

I know the rereleased WrestleManias (98 version) are EP but that could have just been because of their longer running times. Just in general, it seems that the quality went down when they dropped CHV.

The original WWF HV releases were all in crisp, clean SP format (except for WrestleMania 16-18 due to length) until No Mercy 2001. Survivor Series 2001 and Vengeance 2001 ended up being in SP, though. However, everything since has been EP.

Actually on the cover for Unforgiven 01, it says its recorded in ep, but the tape itself is in SP (or at least mine is), no mercy 01 is in super crap ep. wm 2000 at least had stereo ep and a pretty clean picture. The back of vengeance 01 says its in ep so i didnt buy it. survior series 01 and rumble 2002 are in sp i believe. Damn these are crappy videos, i can make a better copy live on ppv recording in sp mode using a T-180, hell using slp on my vcr i could make a better copy then these wwe relases. The wrestlemania legacy collection are all in crap ep, the sound is terrible. when will we get wm on dvd . I know the master tapes have great qulaity cuz everytime the wwe shows old clips they are in great shape.

I bet wwe is trying to save money on blank tapes or somethin.

That's why every wrestling fan needs a dvd player lol

Yeah, those tapes are definitely bootleg quality. Fortunately, at FYE, the EP ppvs are $15 rather than $20. Another funny thing is that if you pick up an SP video in one hand and an EP video in another, the SP video is heavier than the other; just an observation.

My Vengeance copy is SP and is worth it just to see Chris Jericho "Break the Walls Down" and win The Undisputed Title.

The cool thing about The WrestleMania 'Collection' (1-13) is that it was only $80. So the bootleg effect of the tapes isn't all that disappointing since it was around $6.15 / video.

yea its true, the sp video is heavier, but thats cuz there is more tape in a tape that long so of course its heavier. tapes in ep are made on t-120s (for a three hour shows) sp ones are on t-180s which are much heavier due to the extra amount of tape in there. I'm not making fun of you btw, it was a relevant question you posed. the smaller tapes also seem to be more fragile, while the bigger tapes last much longer (you can still find old wwf coliseum videos at video rental places stilll in great shape after all those years, but maybe they made the cassetes better back then)

btw I found T-180s at my local target. you get 9hrs in ep mode but the cool part is you get 3 hours in sp, so you can record a ppv live in great quality and sound. now that I have digital cable, the picture is sharp and clear so ppvs come out great on vhs, even if you have a non-stereo, 2 head vcr like me

so the point is if youre going to order a 3 hour ppv, and want to record it, pick up a t-180 blank tape (maxell is the best brand for them as far as I've seen)
