Bad Religion - Not into them at all.

Cheap Trick - Funny stuff

Motley Crue - Good rock n' roll band.

INXS - Sucks.

U2 - Fucking great.

Aerosmith - They blew hard in the 80's.

Hey, where's the Smiths? The Queen is Dead might be one of the finest 80s albums ever!

I don't see nearly enough New Wave stuff on there to say anything. It's really all that I can comment on.

Incandenza knows. I think the smiths are the greatest band ever, but that's just me. from the list i like iron maiden, ozzy, AC/DC, some police, some bowie, some metallica some queen and some GnR, hate U2, hate INXS, and don't have that strong an opinion on the rest. I haven't heard enough cheap trick to judge, but i might like them.

Some scattered thoughts:

80's Bowie blew, with the except of Labyrinth. JARETH 4 LIFE

The Clash dropped their three good albums before 1980--Sandinista, Combat Rock, and especially Cut the Crap (shudder) all suck when compared to the Holy Frickin' Trinity that is Clash US, Give Em Enough Rope, and London Calling.

Depeche Mode did great stuff, but peaked with Violator.

U2 in the 80's was amazing.

GnR...Appetite for Destruction. That's all you need to know.

TheThe...very underrated and not so well known. Mind Bomb and Infected are two great little acerbic albums. Bizarre folky acidy twisted rock.

The assorted metal I'm not too familiar with--except, of course, for the hairtastic crap that is Poison, Cinderella, and Whitesnake. But you KNOW you love "Here I Go Again."

The godhead of the 1980's who has been left off this list is Prince. He gets my vote for best artist of the 80's, period. Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain, Sign o' The Times...christ, that's pretty much impossible to top.

Tell me you didn't just call THE SCORPIONS a piece of crap band...dude, they're songs are covered by EVERY SINGLE hard rock band today! All we need is 3 songs from them: "The Zoo," "Rock You Like A Hurricane," and "Blackout."

Fuck you all who think otherwise, I feel like trolling...:D

Love Slayer (obviously), Megadeth, and Motorhead. Maiden has a few songs I dig, but I'm not really into them too much.

I'm agreed with Corey on Van Halen

GnR has one album I like

Ozzy in the 80's doesn't hold a candle to his Sabbath years

Bad Religion and AC/DC, file with Maiden in the repect that I have some songs of theirs I like, but am not really into the band as a whole.

I utterly despise every other band mentioned aside from Bowie, who I am indifferent to.

Iron Maiden-one of my favorite metal bands from that era

Metallica-they opened for Ozzy and I thought they sucked.I guess this was around either Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets. Then my friend played a tape of theirs;I think it was called Kill Em All.I liked that and I grew to like some of their other stuff.

Megadeth-haven't heard a lot of..what I've heard is ok

Slayer-see Megadeath

Judas Priest-pretty consistantly good up till whatever the album after Turbo was.

Scorpions-A few good songs but they never did much for me

Motorhead-No Sleep Til Hammersmith is one of my favorite live albums.Motorhead is another of my favorites.

Van Halen-great with Dave...the first couple with Sammy are decent..after 5150 it goes downhill badly

GnR-see Scorpions

Posion-see Scorpions except with fewer good songs

Bad Religion-I've heard of them but I don't know if I've ever heard anything they've done

Cheap Trick-fun band.I like a lot of their stuff

Motley Crue-first two albums are good then it went downhill for the most part.Kinda hit and miss.

Ozzy Osbourne-I like a lot of Ozzy's solo stuff but not as much of it since Randy Rhodes died

Peter Gabriel-some great singles and some good albums

INXS-I like a lot of their hits but the rest of their stuff is kinda blah.

U2-I like their early music....after The Joshua Tree..I just haven't been able to get into them.

Cinderealla-bah.

Def Leppard-first three albums are good to great. After Pyromania hit big, they got formulatic and boring.

AC/DC-I don't remember much after Flick Of the Switch but they were usually good.

Aerosmith-Again,I like a lot of their stuff but alot of their music in the 90's sounds the same to me.

Whitesnake=a couple decent songs but bah

Aldo Nova-decent first album. He only put out one or two after that, didn't he?

Duran Duran-good singles....that's about it

The The-heard of...I'm pretty sure I've never heard

Depesche Mode-Music For the Masses I liked but beyond that ,just some scattered songs

The Clash-what little I've heard..about 3 albums...is pretty good

Styx-a couple decent albums...

Queen-good band.I like the Live Killers album.

David Bowie-pretty good..some great singles....a girl I was in love with around 1985 got me into listening to Bowie because she was a fan.But I guess that doesn't really pertain to this.....

Police-some great singles but the rest ,to me, isn't that memorable.

Sting-see Police but with fewer singles.

Iron Maiden - Some good stuff but the whiny voices annoys me on some of their stuff

Metallica - I love all their early stuff

Megadeth - I also like their early stuff.

Slayer - I've never heard alot of their stuff, but what i've heard is good

Judas Priest - I like alot of their stuff, but their song "Ram It Down" took on a whole new meaning when the preferance of the lead singer was revealed

Scorpions - Haven't heard enough of their stuff, but i haaate "Rock you like a Hurricane".

Motorhead - I like their old stuff, but Lemmy sounds too much like Kermit the Frog now.

Van Halen - I like SOME of the stuff with Dave, but overall i'm not a fan of this band.

GnR - Appetite is a great CD from top to bottom, but after that i found them to be hit and miss.

Posion - booooo

Cheap Trick - I don't like them much at all :ducks the thrown tomatoes:

Motley Crue - One of the only "hair bands" that i actually liked

Ozzy Osbourne - Black Sabbath is great, but i cannot STAND Ozzy. I hate his fucking voice it is just too god damn whiny and high pitched.

INXS - I honestly do like a couple of their songs

U2 - Other then The Joshua Tree i don't like any of their stuff.

Cinderealla - Eh, they are ok for hair metal

Def Leppard - haaate them. Also they were one of the first manufactured bands so you can thank them for all the built for mtv bands.

AC/DC - I love the stuff with Bon Scott. The early stuff with Brian Johnson was also good.

Aerosmith - bah, other than "Dream On" and "Walk This Way" with Run DMC i'm not a big fan

Whitesnake - booooooooo

Duran Duran - I like "Her name is Rio" and "Hungry Like a Wolf" but the rest is crap

The The - I think i've heard the name, but i've never heard any of their stuff.

The Clash - They blew in the 80's. They went from punk to fucking "Rock the Cashbah" blaaah

Styx - This doesn't seem to be a popular opinion but i like them. However it's now impossible to listen to "Come Sail Away" without laughing your ass off thanks to South Park.

Queen - Well i don't really know 80's Queen, but i like 70's Queen

David Bowie - I like him but he wasn't all that great in the 80's

Police - They have some good stuff

Sting - I'm not a fan

I'm the exact same way with Maiden. The vocals bug me, but the guitar greatness on some tracks completely overpowers my opinion on the vocals. REALLY talented band, but by no means something I can listen too very much.

I find Iron Maiden terrific, especially the Dickinson vocals yet i don't listen to them all the time. The live stuff is pure gold. I don't really see him as 'whiny'.

Skipping most of the metal bands since I really don't listen to them.

Van Halen: Gary Cherone - best VH vocalist ever. Just kidding.

GnR: They had one killer album, a decent album, and a two disc set that really would've been better served if they had condensed it into one.

Peter Gabriel: Great stuff.

INXS: Creatively spent after X, some of their early stuff is pretty good.

U2: Don't really care for Bono and his causes, but they put out some damn good stuff.

Def Leppard: Turned making formulaic rock into an art form. Meaning you know there's no depth to their music, but you still llike all their songs.

AC/DC: Angus Young rules.

Aerosmith: A very good rock band which turned into just another rock band sometime in the mid-90's

Aldo Nova: ye gods...

Duran Duran: This is the kind of 80's music that I grew up on and loved. Is that so wrong? Eh, kids these days...

The The: Not one of my faveourites...

Depeche Mode: Their new stuff doesn't really rate with their older stuff, but I suppose that's par for the course for these bands.

The Clash: They're more a 70's band.

Styx: Can you believe that GOWAN is now the lead singer?

Queen: They were great. 'nuff said.

David Bowie: Frustrates me because he hasn't really had anything great since the 80's and you know he's capable of it.

Police: Good stuff, but you have to like 80's pop.

Sting: He did a pretty funny Billy Idol once on SNL...

Iron Maiden I have one Maiden tape floating around somewhere. It's OK, I guess. I don't go out of my way to hear it, but it isn't bad.

Metallica One of my favourite bands ever.

Megadeth New stuff eats it, but Rust in Peace, Peace Sells..., and Countdown to Extinction are all great metal CD's IMO

Slayer Don't kill me, Agent, but I'm not really familiar with a lot of thier stuff. I heard Divine Intervention which I liked, but I'm very unfamiliar with Slayer.

Judas Priest  Halford's voice just fucking rawks!

Scorpions Meh, decent. Sorry kkk.

Motorhead Yes!

Van Halen Depends on my mood. Some days I can't stand them, some days, it's all I listen to.

GnR Yes! Another one of my favourite all timers

Posion I'd rather take Poison than watch or listen to these embarrassments on Vh1 anymore.

Bad Religion

Cheap Trick Good, I have some CD laying around somewhere.

Motley Crue See Poison. Vince Neil is a waste of air, Nikki Sixx is a fucking loser, Tommy Lee is funny to laugh at, and Mick Mars is an Addams Family castaway

Ozzy Osbourne God.

Peter Gabriel Not familiar

INXS Not familiar

U2 Ugh. No thanks.

Cinderealla See Poison.

Def Leppard See Van Halen

AC/DC Yeah, I like them. Don't own a CD, but I don't change the station.

Aerosmith I loathe new Aerosmith, but I grew up on Aerosmith.

Whitesnake See Poison

Aldo Nova ???

Duran Duran Not familiar

The The ???

Depesche Mode Not familiar

The Clash Awesome punk rock

Styx No thanks.

Queen See Aerosmith, except for the new stuff comment. I grew up on Queen.

David Bowie Not familiar

Police Yes, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.

Sting ^^^

Iron Maiden - In case you haven't noticed, I have an unhealthy love for this band. They = Best Band Ever.

Metallica - At one time, my favourite band. I've grown away from them though, and while I still enjoy their music, I don't go out of my way to hear it.

Megadeth - Meh. A few good songs, but I don't like Mustaine's voice.

Slayer - Good when I'm pissed off. Have a few CD's.

Judas Priest - I think I'm the only man alive who perfers their newer material. The older stuff ain't bad, but it just seems kinda...bland. It's just riff riff riff riff solo riff riff, it seems. Not very inventive. Not bad, but lackluster sometimes.

Scorpions - Few good songs.

Motorhead - Not too shabby. Again, if I'm in the right mood, I'll listen.

Van Halen - "Runnin' With the Devil" = Best Driving Song Ever.

GnR - Bah.

Posion - BAH.

Bad Religion - Bah.

Cheap Trick - Bah.

Motley Crue - Bah.

Ozzy Osbourne - Alright; I perfer him with Sabbath though.

Peter Gabriel - Bah.

INXS - I think I listened to them when I was like...7...

U2 - Hate.

Cinderealla - BAH.

Def Leppard - Bah.

AC/DC - Some good songs; Then again, it's all the same song, so whatever.

Aerosmith - Bah.

You know what? I don't like anyone else on the list, and I'm getting sick of typing "Bah." So there.
