You Wanna Know What's Really Sad?

Recommended Posts

Guest RickyChosyu

When a wrestling promotion tries to push not only it's head comisioner figuer, but a horrible, homo-eroctic tag team as being way over with the fans, even though any fuckwad above the age of six can tell that they aren't. That may have been the most pathetic segment I'll ever watch in wrestling, simply because nothing can hope to match it's lame, corky, bad-humor driven antics in hopes of convincing its audience to cheer someone.

"Hey, since everyone seems to get a kick out of all those witty gay-bashing jokes, lets try and get these little suckers over by having them make fun of their sexuality, like that one Saturday Night Live Skit! What was that called?"

Sad.

the whole billy chuck and Rico thing was just a part of a Sad old Wrestling ploy in not mocking persay but satirizing Gays, same as Adrian Adonis and or Goldust. Everything Ambigious but nothing truly stated. The only reason the angle turned into Full Blown GAY angle was at this Wedding angle crap. Before had it was like the Ambigiously Gay duo, they did the stereotypical TELLS but didn't go out and truly admit anything. And at the wedding obviously they threw the WORKED Kayfabe in stating it was a Publicity stunt and that they weren't really gay. Perhaps before this point they wanted to end the Gay hinting angle. and so the wedding and the crap and the Match made for Unforgiven was the B & C Out of the Angle. and go on as just another tag team.

Nowhere close to "most pathetic segment in wrestling" for me, just uncompelling and juvenile.

Billy and Chuck seemed pretty over tonight. They were getting pretty good pops. I only watched bits and pieces of the show though. I was only watching during the commercial breaks of Survivor and Big Brother.

They so need a keller(Oz)-esque character on the show. Now THERE is a gay man you can be proud of.

Speaking of Oz, I always thought it would be great if WWE hired some writers from the show. I think they've already finished filming the final season, so the writers need some work. They could write some great violent storylines.

Wrestler Number 5108: Chris Benoit, debuted Feb. 15th 2000. Signed 5 years. Up for title shot 2004.

I'd say writers from Oz + Buffy/Angel (HEY! Damn good shows!) + Wwf = Gold Jerry, GOLD!

Bobo, those pops are usually associated with adjectives like "canned", "spurious" "not genuine" or other words for "fake."

They got a big pop on Raw too when they came out and gave Eric Bishoff the doomsday device.

They did a run in and attacked the big bad heel, of course they're going to get a pop, that's what wrestling logic dictates. No matter how much people like Bischoff in his heel role, when wrestling dynamics come into play like that, they're going to cheer the Invading Babyface Team beating up the scummy heel like they're told to. I doubt that kind of heat is going to be sustained for a tag team as annoying as Billy and Chuck, but hey, the support of Steph can't hurt, can it? Right?

can't assume the pops were canned because the crowd was scene physically animated, they might not be Over in your eyes, but at least for those in front of the camera view people were cheering...

so...kinda moot

Still, most of their heat was about as canned as tuna. Definitely not on the Mark Henry scale though, where the crowd tries to do their best mannequin impersonations.

Actually, I'd say Steph should have her own scale right now. They'd be better off taping all of her backstage segments beforehand and just adding in the canned heat then.

And for most of the match, people were doing their best to keep their hands in their ass pockets. The heat for Billy and Chuck all night was blatantly canned. The only pops they got in that match were due to Benoit and Angle screwing up and triping over each other, which is hardly face heat.

Oh, and anyone care to take a guess at who the "best tag team in the history of the WWE" will be next month? My bet is the Guererros, since they've been teasing a disention angle and will probably be broken up by then.

Why do Billy and Chuck still have that music. Wasn't that supposed to imply they where gay. Since it's been made clear they aren't gay shouldn't they change music.

The saddest thing is that Benoit lost to fucking Chuck. That suggests that he will beat Angle on PPV (or at least he should). Plus, Billy & Chuck might beat the Island Boys (which will also be stupid).

So lets see:

Billy & Chuck=Win

Island Boys=Lose

Benoit=Lose

Angle=Lose

WOW, for a few weeks of cheap "lets mock gays" heat, WWE is gonna sacrifice Benoit, Angle and a debuting (and fairly over) Tag Team. Nice one...

I don't understand how Angle or Benoit beating B&C would've helped that angle, Bionic.

The fact that Angle and Benoit are facing EACH OTHER at Unforgiven, shows that they SHOULD NOT be a cohesive unit and instead play off their rivalry and not some worthless win.

I didn't see why they had to beat Benoit/Angle or even wrestle them to begin with.

What's even worse? When you have to humilliate your best all-around talent by making him screw his lines up..

That was just too frustrating to watch, really.

I actually enjoyed the tag match (although I am a C&B fan). Both teams looked really crisp, good action, plus they built up C&B going into their PPV match, while playing up the feud between Angle & Benoit.

Raven is perfect for so many types of characters. Unfortunately his best ones weren't Vince creations so he and us are S.O.L.

And BINGO was his name-o. Putting Chuck and Billy over last night was the right move. One group is a tag team made of guys that can't stand each other and the other is a cohesive whole. The true tag team should be able to win under those circumstances, and they did. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Too bad they can't use that same kind of logic when booking the damn tag champs, though...

... right, Kane?

(feh)

There are much more stylish and effective ways to get over the "they hate each other, but they have to team anyway" storyline besides making the two look like bumbling idiots.

Leave it to the WWE to try to get over the fact that they can each make each other tap out in a non-match setting. That logic is so backward and ridiculous I can't even begin to understand it. Is the idea of having them face off in tags and geting submision wins over eachother that inconceivable? Why the hell would anyone tap in a non-match setting to begin with? Fuck you, WWE, FUCK YOOOOOUUUUUUUU!!!!

Oh don't even get me started on handicapped matches... don't even. I don't care if Kane's taking on Crash and Shannon Moore, no one man should be able to take out two. That's common sense. To paraphrase a movie, "Handicapped matches suck the sweat off a dead man's balls. Now I don't know what that means, but it sounds pretty bad."
