Game suggestions

Recommended Posts

ok, my PC is getting pretty old(AMD k6-2 450mhz, 128 mb SDRAM with a TNT2 M64) and i'm REALLY bored, can anyone suggest me good games that will work properly on my machine?

btw, I like pretty much any kind of games... especially turn-based strategy and first-person shooters.

Spiderweb has a lot of Ultima VI-style RPGs. Quality is better than most commercial releases and there's always a few metric tons of gameplay. Combat is moderately complex and entirely turn-based.

You want Choas Gate.

It'll run fine on that system, and it can be found in the discount bins 'cause its getting a bit old.

X-Com type turn based strategy.

If you like turn-based strategy, you must obtain a copy of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, which I have pimped many times on this board. I'm too sleepy right now to do a whole write-up on why it's so godly, so just do a search for it in this folder. (It's extremely cheap, too)

The Heroes of Might & Magic series is good, too (Heroes II is the best of the first 3).

As for FPS games, pretty much everything up to the Quake III engine games will run well on your PC, as far as I can tell.

Get No One Lives Forever and Deus Ex...both of these have been somewhat overlooked over the past couple of years.

Do you like RPGs?

yeah, I love RPG's... especially games like Avernum 3 which kicks 47 different kinds of ass (thanks for the link Marney!), but I pretty much like all kinds of RPG's...

by far the greatest video game i have ever played is everquest...it certainly lives up to its name and has endless places to go or things to do.it takes quite a bit to run the updated ones i think, plus it costs an arm and a leg to play each month.. but they keep a nice lid on the cheating...

I second No One Lives Forever. A fantastic FPS, great story, great voice acting, and funny as hell.
