Guest Vyce Report post Posted March 2, 2002 Jim Ross WAS one of the best in the biz....at one point, I think he was. If you watch his work in the late 80s / early 90s for the NWA / WCW, it was stellar. That was when he was on the top of his game. Then he moved to the WWF, and for a time, he still had some of that magic. Then he came down with Bell's Palsy, and I'm sorry, but after that, he's been declining steadily year by year. Even setting aside all of the "face announcer" / corporate shill stuff, he's just a pale imitation of what he once was. I honestly think he should begin grooming someone soon to take over his job, but I doubt that will be happening. I'm happy to see Fat Tony getting some respect! True, in his later years for WCW, he had to become a corporate shill like JR, but there was a time when he was pretty damn good. I've seen a lot of remarks on the net, mostly by anti-WCW marks, which seem to discount every part of his career as crap. I just don't see that as true.
