Last live event you went to

The last show I went to was a WWE house show on July 1st headlined by an excellent Angle-Edge match(Probably better then the hair vs hair match but worse then the cage match or Backlash) and featured good Funaki-Rico, UnAmericans-John Cena and Steve Bradley matches and a really swank Rey Misterio and Billy Kidman Vs Chavo Guerrero and Tajiri match. The downside was a Rikishi-Test match and a six man featuring hosses(Mark Henry, Hugh Morrus and Rob Conway, the only non hoss Vs Albert, D Von and Bautista). Attendance was terrible, but the crowd heat was good and overall I'd give the show a thumbs up.

CZW show in Sewell, NJ. I believe it was early September last year. I went to cheer on GQ and Chris Cash. They were in a backyard fed that I participated in in 2000. It was their first CZW match.

WWE house show in July.

Main event was Edge/Angle, and it was a good match. Also, Rey/Hurricane vs. Tajiri/Chavo (this was before Rey debuted on TV) was a good match.

I went to the San Jose show on saturday(Smackdown crew) and just sent out a report to PWTorch after they said they were still looking for one. Maybe they will post it.

The Benoit/Angle match was great and probably a sort of run-through of their PPV match.

Her's my report if they fail to post it:

I attended the 9/21 San Jose house show at the Compaq center. I got to the ticket window shortly after 11:00 when they opened and was going to buy a $15.00 ticket but they were sold out so I ended up buying a $30.00 ticket. They started letting people in at 3:00 for the 4:00 start time.

I didn't write anything down while the show was going except the matchups on so I will be going by memory and this report won't be very detailed.

The show began around 4:00 with tremendously loud pyro that the televised version does't do justice as many have stated. The whole top section of probably the $15:00 tickets were empty which irritaes me because not only did I have to pay more than I wanted to, but they let the people who bought cheaper tickets get better seats than they paid for and pack the lower sections affording me less room. The middle section was only about 2/3 full.

Noble vs. Kidman vs. Misterio

Good fast-paced action with Misterio being way over. At first Kidman and Rey were teaming up against Noble but after some miscues they started fighting each other. Noble pinned Kidman after a roll up assisted by the ropes. Noble then won the match by pinning Misterio after a tiger driver. Good way to start off the card but it was on the short side. 619 by Rey on noble after the match followed by bronco busters on Nidia by Rey/Wilson. Torrie Wilson looked great as I sat near where the wrestlers come out and was able to go to the barricade when the wrestlers are being introduced or leaving and get pretty close.

Cena vs. Buchanon

Crowd didn't know Bull very well but some people were aware he was in Right to Censor. Not bad crowd heat though except for the rest holds which received sighs. Cena hit a spinning fisherman's buster but only got a nearfall. Bull did his corner jumping to a clothesline which got some oohs and looked nice. Cena eventually won although I forget how(Wasn't via his protoplex.)

C. Holly/Henry vs. Billy/Chuck

Billy and Chuck definitely got a reaction, it sounded mixed but mostly cheers. Billy/Chuck won after a Chuck superkick to Henry which looked like it got some good contact, overall a bad match.

D-von vs. Orton

D-von gets some cheap heat in his promo about San Jose and their hockey team. Typical match that wasn't anything special but I do like Devon's inverted brainbuster finisher which he used to put Randy away. I was expecting Bautista to come out as I wanted to see how big he was in person.

Moore/Hurricane vs. Tajiri/Basham

Crowd didn't know who Basham was but said he looked like Test's smaller brother. Good match but too little Tajiri on offense for my tastes. Helms/Moore win after a Helms' shining enziguri which suprised the crowd which wasn't expecting a pinfall off that move.

Kane vs. WWE World Champion Lesnar

I really like Kane's theme song and it was very loud. The crowd seemed like they didn't know how to react to Lesnar but they wanted to react somehow and there were mini Lesnar chants earlier on the card. Heyman cut an anti-San Jose promo including a shot at immigration which got heat considering more thn half the crowd were hispanic. They did alot of whose stronger showdowns and the match was slow paced. Lesnar won by DQ after Kane gave him a chairshot after Lesnar used a chair on Kane after a ref bump. Heyman got choke-slammed post-match to a great reaction.

Intermission with all the expensive concessions and merchandise that I didn't purchase.

Valboski vs. M. Hardy

Hardy promo whre he said we all need "Mattitude" or something to that effect. Good match as I am a fan of both guys. Venis hit an exploder and put on a cool looking leg submission but I don't think it was the Nagata lock he has used in the past. Matt Hardy version 1.0 wins with the twist of fate which had been teased well before it was actually hit.

Angle vs. Benoit

This wasn't an advertised match but I am so glad it happened. The fans chanted "Angle sucks" very loudly. Great match as they started with some amatuer style wrestling which was pulled off fluidly and fast. Great rolling germans spot as Benoit hit 2, went for a third at which point Angle reversed it and hit two of his own and Benoit reversed Angle's attempt at a third and somewhere hit Angle with a releash german where Angle landed on his face/stomach, great sequence. Anklelock and crippler crossface were both teased/used without a tap out. Finish came cheaply with Angle winning with a roll up, I didn't have a good angle so I don't know if it was rope assisted but it was near the ropes. BTW I was in Oakland and caught 3 A's games, during one of the games an "Angels suck" chant broke out but turned into a "Angle sucks" chant at the end which made me chuckle.

Edge/Rikishi vs. E. Guerrero/C. Guerrero(Kiss my asss match)

Great heat for all during introductions, Eddy/Chavo got a mixed reaction as the largely Mexican crowd cheered them. I'm a big Edge and Chavo fan and a huge Eddy fan. Eddy's wrestling and his heel antics were easily the highlight of the match although Edge was good too. Edge/Rikishi win this good match after a Rikishi driver on Chavo which I marked out for. I hate the stinkface and all the ass-kissing stuff but I stayed to watch the kiss-ass stuff and it did make me laugh. The Guerreros were leaving when Edge got on the mic and reminded them of the stipulation. They decided to leave anyway but the ref got on the mic saying they would get fined if they didn't kiss ass which got major cheers, they were given a 10 count and Eddy decided Chavo would be the one to have to kiss ass. They hesitated and barely made it in to avoid the potential fine but attacked Edge/Rikishi when they were about to do the ass kissing. Eventually Edge/Rikishi got the upperhand and both Eddy and Chavo were in the corners semi-conscious. Edge pulled down his tights to reveal a thong and he gave Eddy a stinkface which Eddy sold tremendously by furiously wiping his face with the ring apron, Rikishi then gave Chavo the stinkface. Amazing heat for this and despite my dislike for stuff like this I enjoyed it alot. Great way to end the show and send the crowd home after an average show.

The show wasn't horrid and had good moments but I personally don't like being in crowds and hated the whole ticket BS, so unless I happen upon good tickets either free or cheap I don't think I will attend another WWE show( The same deal goes for MLB games as I didn't like the crowded field level seating but liked sitting in the Bleachers where I can at least get a seat where I am somewhat isolated).

Indy show back in May. I believe it was the Maverick Wrestling League, or something similar. The main event was Buff Bagwell vs. Disco Inferno and Jorge Estrada that wrestles for the NWA now was also there. Your standard indy show with standard indy gimmicks. I tried to get a Ponch chant going for Estrada, but it didn't take.

Extreme Texas Wrestling in August, with Konnan vs Hotstuff Hernadez as the Main Event

it was worth the money

the greatest indy event that I went to ever was Texas Wrestling Alliance vs WWF in 2000? well the show is on fancam by RF video, its the Del Rio show. Me and my friends are in it I think as we had a D-Lo Brown sign that does the "You Better Recognize" taunt, it made him laugh.

the line up was American Dragon, Spanky, Lance Cade, D-Lo Brown, Esse Rios with Lita, Hardcore Holly.

WWE House Show, last Monday at the E-Centre in SLC... Main event was actually Angle/Rikishi in a "Kiss My Ass" match.

Nothing really fantastic on the show, but it was pretty cool. My friend had Howard Finkel sign her birth control...

I think the last one I was at was a Raw in Philly highlighted by The Rock's return, RVD vs. Tajiri, Tazz jobbing to Jericho in under 30 secs. It was right after ECW made it's impact on the Invasion.

August 5th Raw from Baltimore (day after my 21st b-day). Wasn't that great other than the half hour brawl between Ric Flair and Triple H after the show went off the air.

The security at the arena are assholes and wouldn't let me bring my nice camera inside because they were afraid I would sell the pictures or something. The whores!

Other events:

WWF House Show @ Landover, MD; Capital Centre - May 1, 1993

Great Mr. Perfect / Shawn Michaels draw headlined by Bret / Luger

WWF House Show @ Landover, MD; Capital Centre - July 17, 1993

Bret / Yoko headlined by HBK / Perfect

WCW Monday Nitro @ Phoenix, AZ; Ameria West Arena - October 25, 1999

The first night of the world title tournament that featured Benoit / Malenko (drools) and Bret Hart pins Goldberg for the U.S. title. There were only about 5 people in the arena cheering for Bret and I was leading the cause.

WWF House Show @ Baltimore Arena - April 27, 2002

Angle / Edge headlined by Triple H / Jericho

WWF House Show @ Washington DC; MCI Center; June 28, 2002

Flair / Lesnar headlined by Hogan / Taker

Guest .3.0.7.

this year:

wrestlemania x8 - march 17, 2002 - mostly great show live, didn't come off very well on tape.. crowd heat was HUGE live, non-existant on tape, but rock and hogan was definately something special both live and on tape.

raw - may 13, 2002 - booooring show. no good matches, but i did manage to see hogan vs flair in a battle of "who looks older". booker t joins the nwo, crowd was dead the whole night and they didn't give us anything to wake us up.

awf proving ground iii (day 14) - august 30, 2002 - apocalypse wrestling federation is a toronto indy. during the canadian national exhibition, which is a huge fair that happens at the lakefront of lake ontario, near ontario place. it includes rides, a big midway, booths, and an airshow (which was excellent this year). the awf runs three shows a day EVERY DAY of the cne, which totals up to about 48 shows with about 3 matches each show. it was my first experience with the awf, and it was very good stuff. very very very very very very green wrestlers (most are still in training, and the ones who weren't were not anything special), but a lot of fun nonetheless.

i'm going to smackdown on october 15 in toronto.. good god i hope that it puts on some decent matches. i am losing patience with wwe live shows.

The last live event I went to was the first Raw of the split. The opener was a pretty good RVD-Booker T match and the final segment was a promo with Vince and Flair trying to sign Austin. The pop was pretty ridiculous for Austin seeing as how it was his first appearance back since Wrestlemania. It wasn't the best show i've been to though, by a long shot.

Geez considering that was a OK Raw(Not really bad but nothing out of this world) what was the worst show you've been to Hulkster?

The last, and only, show I went to was RAW on 3/16/98 in Phoenix, but I think it was shown on the 17th or something. Christopher Daniels wrestled a jobber before RAW started, but I'm not sure if it was a dark match or if it was on Shotgun. After RAW, they had a dark match with Austin/Undertaker/Cactus Jack vs. Rock/HHH/Billy Gunn to close the show.

Chaotic Wrestling here in MA back in August. Always very entertaining stuff. The first match is always two students of their training school, and everything else is generally very good. My last WWF show was Smackdown in Boston back in February. Horrible fucking show, just awful. It was the one with the Austin/Hall "net" incident. Yuck. -JM

I'm not saying it was awful, but WWE usually puts on a helluva show when they come to Albany, NY. The first WWE event I went to was a 4 hour block of superstars tapings in 94 with other matches added in between the tapings. It was at least in the top 2 WWE shows i've been to. The main event was Bret Vs Owen with a really good Razor Vs Diesel IC title match. The second WWE show I went to was the Raw after Wrestlemania 14. It was hands down the best Raw i've ever been to. The next event I went to was No Mercy 2000, then the Raw a few weeks before WMX-7 highlighted by Jericho pissing in Regal's tea. There was a really good Essa Rios Vs Low Ki match on the Metal taping that night as well. After that, I seen a house show the week after Booker T won back his WCW belt from Angle. This was suprisingly one of the better shows I've seen live. It had a 4 way tag team match featuring the Dudleys, The Hardys, Lance Storm and Kanyon, and Edge and Christian that I would have to say is one of the best matches i've ever seen live. It went a good half an hour. The last one I had seen before the Draft Raw was the Smackdown where Paul Heyman cut that promo on Vince. I enjoyed myself at the Draft Raw, but with the jacked up ticket prices and the mostly lousy matches, I felt kinda jipped by it. As far as the worst show i've seen live, Have you ever wondered why nobody talks about the indies in upstate NY?

Unforgiven last sunday. I had floor seats, was in the section where Shaq was sitting behind Cole/Tazz in the 13th row. It is so small in person so I wasn't that far away. Great view of ring and entrance althought I could hardly see when someone first entered cuz of all the people standing up and people with signs. I enjoyed the show but it cost me 90 bucks plus 8 buck ticketmaster charge so I was bummed a little, Unforgiven official tshirt cost me 28 bucks (damn)

But it was still the best show I have been to in years.

and there were a lot of people there, but I doubt it was sold out.
