Guest converge241 Report post Posted September 24, 2002 well what do you think? Brock for not winning his first big title defense, and generally looking like a chickenshit heel, when he should be a monster or RVD for losing the secondary title, the chance at the primary title, getting revenge, victim of the non-sensical turn this is of course in addition to anything and everything else that has cut off their legs/heads before the past week
Guest Rob Edwards Report post Posted September 24, 2002 I'd go for Brock because up until now everyone has sold him as a bone fide monster and Unforgiven may well boot him back to average in a lot of fans minds Great job as locker room leader Taker that Brock was almost drawing ratings thank god you stopped him while you had the chance
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted September 24, 2002 I'd say Brock is more damaged right now. He should have practically squashed Taker at the PPV. Is it just me, or is RVD less motivated right now, than he was back around KOTR this summer? It seems to me that as his chances of making it past the glass ceiling dwindle, that RVD's care dwindles as well.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted September 24, 2002 I'd go for Brock because up until now everyone has sold him as a bone fide monster and Unforgiven may well boot him back to average in a lot of fans minds. He SOLD FOR THE HARDYZ after the plane ride from hell and was demoted to "needs outside help to win" heel. He's not a monster heel, but I think Brock is more damaged because RVD is over. Brock's still trying to get over (despite the fact he has the fucking title), and thus is hurt more.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2002 Well, even if he wasn't a monster heel his credibility took a big hit by not being able to beat the Undertaker, by having to sell those horrible punches, by having none of his offense sold (except for the opening minutes), by the ref bumps, by getting beat up post-match, by the interference that helped nothing, and by losing twice with no ref. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted September 24, 2002 Brock's been damaged since his feud with RVD...they wouldn't let him get a clean victory over the guy...if they knew they were going to put the title on him you'd think they could job Van Dam out a couple of times instead of having the Paul E run in no contest crap EVERY match. At least RVD's over
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted September 24, 2002 RVD is still over with the fans, but for how long? If HGH keeps on using his backstage power, Rob will start loosing steam and the fans at the same time, imagine being at a job where there's no chance of promotion. I hope RVD hasn't lost his smile, but in this case it would HGH stealing Rob's smile.
Guest tominator89 Report post Posted September 24, 2002 I have to agree, I think Brock is more damaged than RVD. Undertaker is an old biker and Brock is a young, former NCAA wrestling champion who is physically build. How can anyone suspend their reality that Undertaker can destroy Brock? The entire main event of Unforgiven was a slap in the face. Remember on Nitro when Duggan fought Goldberg? That's how this match should have been. Instead we are forced to believe that like a fine wine, apparently the Undertaker gets better with age. It's a waste of time to even bother trying to get interested in a WWE fued right now because for one reason or another (mainly old, worthless main eventers holding their spot) the end result sucks. (see also Jericho, Chris).
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Brock is more damaged. RVD is impervious to anything HHH can do to him as long as he is a face. Jericho was the same way...until they turned him heel and HHH successfully made a joke out of him.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted September 25, 2002 You can't damage RVD... he's like Angle, he miraculously stays over. Besides, his "burial" was hardly such; it was fairly obvious he wasn't going to win the title, and the first part of the match, the slowest, most boring part, was all HIM on offense. Guest Chuck Woolery Report post Posted September 25, 2002 I dunno, it seemed like Van Dam's cheers were waning on Raw last night... *shivers* Hell's getting kinda cold.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Brock was damaged LONG before Judgement Day. Specificially...when Austin walked out insted of facing Lesnar. If Austin faced Lesnar...and Austin lost like planned...then maybe Taker wouldn't have done the stupid shit he did at Unforgiven.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 I don't think Austin jobbing to Lesnat would have done a thing to change anything. The finish had Eddy as the ref cost Austin the match. Putting all the heat on the Austin/Eddy feud. Brock was just there
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Right now- Lesnar is more damaged After RVD/HHH Feud is over- RVD will be more damaged
Guest Goodear Report post Posted September 25, 2002 I don't think Austin jobbing to Lesnat would have done a thing to change anything. I know that was most likely a typo... But now I'm picturing Brock Lestat... VAMPIRE CHAMPION!!! Bring me Gangrel so we can start living the gothic lifestyle!
Guest papacita Report post Posted September 25, 2002 I say that everyone's overreacting to Unforgiven, because I seriously doubt that marks will think any less of Brock or RVD because they didn't win.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted September 25, 2002 I don't think either man was damaged a great deal. IF Brock whips UT in the rematch no one will care about his struggle at this PPV. IF RVD keeps going against HHH and wins the title AT ALL I don't think he is buried.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Triple H is to blame totally for RVD's slight reduction in heat. Triple H is refusing to play the role of a true heel, and rather he does things that will obviously get pops from the crowd. I just think that Triple H must not have any interest in getting anyone over. Same goes for UT with Brock. I guess it all comes back to whether the top guys care or even want to help at all in getting new guys over. Right now it seems they don't give a shit.
