Guest starvenger Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 All I can say is... they canned Dark Angel for this crap? I'm all for trying to do something new, but the "Sci-Fi Western" just doesn't seem to work imo. What do you guys think?
LaParkaYourCar Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 Looks like a cheap rip off of Lexx to me. I probably won't watch it.
Guest El Satanico Posted September 25, 2002 Report Posted September 25, 2002 I honestly didn't think Firefly was that bad. Also Dark Angel was never that good of a show either. If i'm home on a Friday night i'd watch Firefly again. However, the best sci fi show on Friday nights is still Farscape.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 I didn't like Firefly, but I really liked the show before it, John Doe, especially tonights episode. Probably the best new drama type show Fox has had in a while.
Guest brokentusk16 Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 I think the show has some great potential. Too early to get a real feeling though. Give it two months. They'd do good to keep Whedon focused on the show, given FOX's short attention span. And no, STILL not better than Farscape, the BEST sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural show on tv today.
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 I've enjoyed Firefly so far, but then I wasn't watching anything else on Friday night until it debuted. Pairing it with John Doe was a good move since that show has some good buzz behind it. At least I've got something to watch besides Extended Play on Tech TV now.
Guest Cavi Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 As much of a Joss fanboy as I am, I thought the show was really quite boring.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Dark Angel really only did well because of Jessica Alba IMO. And Firefly sucked. I watched John Doe, but Firefly bored me out of my skull within the first ten minutes. I kept it on the whole time why occupying myself otherwise, in case it picked up...but it never did.
Guest Ripper Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I'm just not a fan of most sci-fi shows. I know that Joss Whedon is a genious and all, and I didn't like the first seasons of his other shows so maybe if given time to allow the characters to be something I could care about, I would like the show. But as of now, too much explaining and too much ground work being laid to be enjoyable. On a side note, I am really intrested in seeing what the original pilot was now.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Firefly wasn't bad, but I consider it a warm up for John Doe.
