Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted September 24, 2002 The will be fast and furious as NWA Total Nonstop Action returns to Pay Per View live this Wednesday night at 8pm Eastern! They are two of the most exciting athletes in the world. This Wednesday night, you will see them in a two-out-of-three fall series, as the phenomenal AJ Styles will take on the returning Low Ki, with the winner getting a shot next week at the X-Division title! Last week, for the first time in TNA history, the X-Division champ was given a shot at the NWA World Title. Jerry Lynn, the current X-Division champion, took NWA World Champion Ron "The Truth" Killings to the limit, having the belt in his grasp. That is, until Sonny Siaki cost Lynn the match. This week, it is Lynn's turn to put up the X-Division title as has asked for a rematch against Truth. This time things will be different. The contest has been declared a Lumberjack match, with members of the X-Division around ringside to prevent outside interference. During last week's Tag Team Gauntlet for the Gold, Brian Lawler was eliminated, but illegally returned to the match and eliminated Syxx-Pac from the contest. This week, Lawler has joined with tag team partner Elix Skipper, as they will take on Syxx-Pac and Scott Hall. He cost Jerry Lynn his chance at the NWA World Title this week. This week, Sonny Siaki faces tough X-Division competition with the Amazing Red! It came down to two teams in last week's Gauntlet for the Gold. Cowboy James Storm and Wildcat Chris Harris successfully became the new champions. This week, they will be challenged by the team that went down the to the wire with them in the Gauntlet, Ron Harris and Prime Time Brian Lee. After unveiling himself as the man under the mask, B.G. James will finally step into the ring one- on-one with longtime enemy, Jeff Jarrett. With so much history between these two individuals, this one is sure to be a brawl. See the action for yourself this Wednesday night, exclusively on Pay Per View! Order NWA TNA for just $9.95 at 8pm Eastern, this Wednesday night! Styles vs. Low Ki: This should be frickin' awesome given what we've seen from them in the past. TNA needs to watch themselves when it comes to throwing the same match(es) out there a lot though because you can have too much of a good thing. Killings vs Lynn: I liked where they were going with last week's match, but too many run-ins ruined it. Is a lumberjack match the answer? I don't know, but I doubt it. Lawler/Skipper vs. Hall/Syxx-Pac: This could go either way, depending on how into it the participants are. Skipper and Syxx-Pac could provide lots of sizzle, with Hall and Lawler providing the steak. Things are just getting started here though. Siaki vs. Red: If Siaki can hang with Red, this could be another good X divison match. Obviously there are issues building between Siaki and Lynn, so look for him to go over en route to a title match against Lynn. Harris/Storm vs. Harris/Lee: Harris and Storm as the underdog champs do have some potential, but they need to blow past this feud with Harris and Lee to have a shot at making any impact. Hopefully this will be the last we see of it. James vs. Jarrett: Former partners-in-crime collide here. Jarrett will have to carry this one, what with James not being back in ring shape yet and of course he'll likely still be hurting after the auto accident. Don't be surprised if Killings gets involved. So, there you have it. It looks like a good lineup on paper. I'm definitely looking forward to the show (as always). Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted September 24, 2002 Methinks Low Ki's got to win, because we've seen Styles/Lynn a million times. And while it's great, I don't think we've yet had a Lynn/Low Ki singles match. I'd like to see Sonny Siaki ruining everyone's X-Title chances until he can work himself up the rankings...you know, beat Red, then next week beat Kash or something, cost the challenger the match...beat somebody else, cost the next challenger the match...so that he's the one who gets to take Lynn down and be seen as the king of the X division. I really like the whole X Division storyline, based around the competition, the supposed allegiance of X wrestlers, and the fighting within. S'interesting. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Looks good to me. I'm glad that Skipper is in that tag match...Skipper in the ring with Pac could be fun
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 The show sounds good. The only match I don't care for is the Tag Title match.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 This will be the third time that match will have happened too. The first two were crap. I don't see Harris and Storm losing the belts the week after winning them...so this match is not needed. They should be facing the SATs or someone...you know...else. Guest RedJed Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Not sure if I'm going to get the show tomorrow yet or not. More inclined to though now that Lawler v. Pac isn't a singles match anymore. Don't get how a lumberjack match comes into play after last weeks finish in the ME. Shouldn't we be thinking more on the lines of a cage or something to keep the interfere to a minimum? Hope Lo-Ki and Styles is better than their last effort, which was toned down because they only had 6-7 minutes to work it. Anyone want to see Steamboat back? Hell I could name a ton of guys I want back instead of some that are here, like Harris/Lee and Lawler, for example.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted September 25, 2002 Actually they did have a Lynn/LoKi match that was ruined by an AJ run in....it was only decent though. Lynn/Styles is killer and that issue has never been really resolved. As an aside, man did the WWF screw up in releasing Jerry Lynn or what?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 25, 2002 I thought the previous Lynn/Lo Ki match was better than the previous Lo Ki/AJ one. All I can remember from the Ki/AJ match was Chad and his sign. Apparently...tonights match is 2/3 falls
