SmackDown SPOILER Thread

Hogan does not need to beat Rock. His name will not be affected one bit if he loses. Regardless of who wins, the match will have 15 run-ins, 12 foreign objects, 7 ref bumps and a screwy ending. Rock needs to wipe the Mania curse from his record.

Jericho does need to beat HHH to be considered a main player. Trips can always win the title at backlash and the world will be a happy (or unhappy if you are bps) place.

And to piss me off even further, Angle will probably lose to Kane to return the job for Kane's last three at the hands of Angle.

I thikn that Jericho needs to go over more than anyone on the show.

He marks the bridge to the "new blood". If he loses the belt to HHH...and then the NWO dominates storylines for the balance of the year...It will set the WWF back 2 years.

Possibly longer. The failure to create something fresh and new always seems to drive the fans away. there is noone in the midcard who doesn't look like damaged goods at this point. Very reminiscent of WCW. I went to the OVW page and some of these guys that have been talked about (Lesnar, Waterman, Prototype, Leviathan) look like monsters. Bring them in and let them search and destroy. Create a NEW star. It worked with Angle. It will work with one of those monsters.

The time is NOW!

Reading the spoilers, this show could fit in the "Worst Writer" thread. Since Steph took over in the Fall of 2000...a feud has started over coffee, and now a feud starts over a Japanese shampoo commerical. WTF!

i think angle was a rare case....i seriously doubt any of the guys in OVW are gonna achieve what angle did in a short amount of time. And people also forget that angle spent over a year working dark matches before he got his chance.....i remember he faced owen in one of his final matches. I think bringing up some of the ovw guys and hope one of them turns into angle is not the solution....

what started over coffee?

the shampoo is just stupid. How hard is it to have edge and booker bump into each other backstage. booker laughs at edge's failure to beat regal, then edge quasi-shoots on booker. fight. instant feud that makes sense.

Jericho/ Kane late 2000 started over coffee.  Jericho spilled it on him and made a wise ass remark about burning him.

BTW this irritates me about Kane.  Originally the story was he was burned evertwhere but his arm, but now he wears a tank top and I don't see any burns.  Continuity, please.

Chris Jericho & Kane got into a feud after Jericho spilled coffee on Kane. That happened on Raw and lead to their match at Armageddon 2000.

Show pretty much sounds worse than Raw was, and I thought Raw was very weak. This Mania undercard in terms of a hype job is going to be awful. Plus who is deciding the undercard matches? Every one of them to see is weak. If they are going to have Maven at Mania, why are they using Dustin as his opponent? There is many other guys who deserve a spot in the card than him. Here's an idea......turn Snow on Maven leading into Mania.......that would draw some interest instead of some pointless matchup. Or at least have an established hardcore worker against Maven......fuck, even Crash Holly or Show would be better than Goldust.

They continue to drop the ball with the NWO angle.......pull a rehashed concept with Austin and a toy gun out of their "creative minds". Good job Steph, you're sure thinkin! My god, by Mania time the heat is going to be completely lost with Austin-Hall, if there ever was heat there in the first place.

I can't even comment on how retarded a feud starting over a Japanese shampoo commercial is. One of the weakest reasonings for a feud I think I've ever heard of, and this even includes much of Russo's crazy WCW shit. Poor Edge is being really shafted all of a sudden......they should have him beat Regal NOW and have him face RVD at Mania. This might be a good match, but I don't see anything good coming out of this feud, if they continue it past Mania. Booker should turn face NOW and take on Test at Mania......there's much more of a buildup there. And Edge, even if they don't want to bury Regal by having him lose the IC title before Mania, should be put in a match with Christian (last match between the two ever) in the least. At least it would make the Toronto fans happy and again, there is backstory. It was ridiculous how they turned their feud last year into a 6 week blowoff anyway. Tag title match is even more pointless now, obviously. And then the continued stuff with Steph and HHH...who fucking cares anyway?! And why have Angle lose to Hunter in the ME tag standard match? That makes no buildup to EITHER Kane/Angle or HHH/Jericho. My god, can't the writers do ANYTHING right lately??!! I can't believe Vince even approves this horseshit for airing.

Sometimes these spoilers sound bad and turn out into a decent show, but I can't see this being possible this time around. Also, I think it says alot about the current problem with the "creative team" when all they can figure to do for the opener here is work an exact copy of a match and angle they have done on the house shows the past few weekends.

another gripe! If billychuck and the apa fought tonight, why even bother throwing this crap on the PPV. Looks like billychuck won pretty decisively.

I guess the WWF is going to push the fact Chuck & Billy have beaten the APA. The APA probably win at WM, so I guess they wanted people to know Chuck & Billy have a chance.

Does that mean we get to see Jericho beat HHH before Mania?

Because I don't know anyone who thinks Jericho has a chance.

and then maybe if we are lucky, we can get that exciting apa-outsiders showdown.

That's what the WWF probably is going for. The APA vs. Hall & Nash. Or X-Pac & Nash if Hall isn't around.

A frustrating problem here is that the NWO hasn't been there long enough to be jobbed out.  If they had arrived last summer and rum amuck for months, everyone would be glad to see them jobbed out at Mania.  As it is, it makes no sense to job out the NWO this early and it makes less sense to job out Rock or Austin to them.

Nash has no match at WM...way to earn that money Big Kev!

Speaking of pole matches, I figure it is a matter of time before we see the "Stephanie's dirty panties on a pole" match that the Rock joked about once between Jericho and HHH.

Smackdown wasn't that great. They did do a new pyro opening for Heat though, and Tazz & Coach (?!) were doing commentary, so maybe the WWF NY thing has gone by the wayside! Yahoo! -Jim

I was wondering....why is it saying I am unregistered when I am registered?  Do I have to log in every time I visit or something?

One additional point about the WM IC match.  If (hopefully WHEN) RVD whips Regal I think it sorta makes Edge look like a complete tool.  Think about it, Edge jobs to Regal for 3 PPVs and then RVD just beats him like it's nothing.  This booking makes no sense and I wonder why Regal retained at NWO, since he and RVD and gonna have a crappy match.

I think I would have preferred Edge to beat Regal and then RVD becomes #1 contender....then Edge sees him as a very real threat and turns heel and joins back up with Christian.  That would be better than what they are doing.

If Jericho isn't a major player after beating Rock and Austin back-to-back-to-back-to-back another win isn't going to magically staple "main eventer" to his forehead.  Jericho just doesn't have it in him to carry a federation in my oppinion.  He just hasn't used the force of his personality to do much of anything since he's been given the opportunity.

I despair at the WWF writers, I really do. Firstly, APA have the title shot at WM, so what happens if they win vs BillyChucky on Smackdown? They don't have to defend at WM? Obviously they didn't, but talk about giving away the end of a match.

And the shampoo thing? For christ's sake. It's not funny and it threatens to make what could be a good feud into a joke. Goodhelmet had a good suggestion. Or how about Booker demands a title shot from Flair, gets turned down and just destroys the first guy he sees, Edge, out of rage? That would get Booker over more than these dreadful skits.

I went to this Smackdown, and I had a ball.  The show wont be that great on TV, but so what?  I think some of you are missing the point.  Go and cheer on your favorite guys.  Cheering the bad guys is much more fun.  And if you say all of em suck, then what the hell are you watching for?

To all you people saying "oh god I'm glad I didnt go blahblah that sucks this was crap", your missing out.

Not one person there thought the show was bad.....and you can tell when they do by the way the people act afterwords. Crowd was alive the entire time.  Well, except for Jazz.....

So go and have fun.  Youll like it.

Oh, I was at RAW too, and everytime Booker T's Japenese skits were on they cracked up the crowd.  So dont think its not working.

i can see your point to an extent but when you are the champion and you are treated as an afterthought, then it's pretty hard to carry the company. Compare to the title reigns of heel Austin in 2001 and HHH during 1999-2000. They were the focal point of every damn show. Jericho has been given the belts but not the ball so to speak.

Did anyone notice the Hogan Video?  I watched Smackdown last night (I like my Satellite) and after the Golddust pins Maven thing, they had a video on the Entire career of Hogan...

Is there still a chance for Kane/Angle to be blown off on free TV?

I have liked the two matches Kane and Angle have had together.  Given them a few more minutes on PPV and a decent build up and they could have a pretty decent match I think.

I know it isn't what Angle should be doing for Wrestlemania but it just isn't his time to be champion right now.
