Oh, and Carnie Wilson when she was fat. Elvis Costello in his prime was no looker, although he's settled into a kind of vaugely handsome gap-toothed elder statesman thing. I have his recently released solo album, and check out the cover: Not only is he pretty, high falutin' literary types like Kafka and Don Delillo have their names dropped in the songs. Even though I do like his solo disc, The Instigator, I'm a bit more fond of his work with the Old 97s. But hey, whenever anyone talented finds mainstream success, I'm happy.
