Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 27, 2002 I got the album last tuesday when it came out...I wasn't instantly smitten (same went for Sickness) but after A few more listens, save for two decent tracks, The whole album is pure awesomeness. A totally different sound that allows the beautiful and soulful voice of David Draiman to soar. Although the primalistic animal is unleashed in a pair of songs...It's a deeper and more thoughtful collaboration. Starting with the Booming hit single "Prayer", it sets the tone for a spritully heavy album. "Liberate" is a decent song on the album but it just totally sounds like a better live song. "Awaken" starts a string of intropective searching rock anthems. "Believe", may wind up the stand out song here. "Remember" is a solid song but it does not hold with the previous song..."Intoxication" might be the runt of the bunch here but it also seems like a better live song. Rise is also very good and it gets more and more intense each listen. Mistress is the darkhorse hit here...as Breathe has Monster hit written all over it. "Bound" returns to it's Sickness roots and gives a nice interlude as they kick into their best emotional and somber songs with "Devour" and it's first ballad "Darkness" which is a very haunting song and it truely allows Draiman to shine like he should. "Believe" is a great sophmoric effort and this time, it shows Draimans intellect and shows he can actully sing besides shout...although he did let a few screams here... Although Elvis will easily knock it off the top next week...Disturbed ends the long run of Rap and Country chart toppers.... WHAT Are YOUR thoughts?
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted September 27, 2002 this is probably the only nu-metal band that I'll listen too (since these guys can actually play damn fuckin well). I've listened to it before football and such, but i have not really got out and bought the CD, yet the first CD is fuckin awesome

Guest razazteca Report post Posted September 27, 2002 sorry to bring up a tired topic but how is Disturbed nu-metal? to my knowledge the is no DJ or rapper in the band. I always like the band, ever since I heard them on the radio last year.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I don't like either of their cds but they do bust ass when playing live, and take the time to talk to people and react to constructive criticism well, which is very commendable.
