Angle and Benoit had a match of the year on Sunday. Eddie and Edge had a great match than too. Tonight, Eddy and Edge had an awesome match, and so did Angle/Rey/Benoit. Yet out of the five of them, only one of them will ever be pushed, and he is the least talented. And why won't the other four be pushed? Why, because they're SMALL!

Well, I've never expected Rey to main event. Edge probably won't make it. Eddie should be. The other two already have techincally. And Angle probaly will be most likely to do it again.

Rey, Noble, Kidman, Tajiri, etc. It's depressing those guys have all the talent in the world...but they are too small.

 

Angle and Benoit are already proven main eventers. Look at 2000. Edge is going to be one soon and Eddie COULD, but there's something about him that doesn't think Vince would want him main eventing. The rest of the smaller crusierweights are just done. Look at Kidman. Jobbing on Velocity? Wow.

That's true they went down to shit....but Angle is a former WWF champion and Benoit was up there as well. I think that if Angle/Benoit got the push, they could both be main eventers once again despite the shit that's happened this year and credible ones at that.

the damage is repairable, if they stop the bleeding now and start repairing. WWE hasn't quite got the concept of keeping those wrestlers you might want to main event someday looking good in the meantime.

 

If you make all your potential main eventers look like crap then you'll have nothing to turn to.

In terms of Vince's own terms..Eddy and Angle should be there.

 

Rock and Austin had massive ammounts of charisma, and were only great wrestlers on occasion. Eddy and Angle BOTH have that, in addition to wrestling ability.

 

Edge is kinda growing on me.

 

Benoit is a bore..but I won't deny the ability he has.

 

Rey Rey? I'd take him over the Next Big Hoss any day.

No matter how you slice it, Angle is in the higher echelon of WWE stars. You can dispute it all you want, but he is there.

 

I don't understand why people whine and complain about Helms and Kidman being held down. These guys are above average wrestlers at best, and really don't have much natural charisma. The Hurricane gimmick helps out Helms but really, is he THAT good? Could he have a ****+ match with Kurt Angle? I don't think so. Kidman has been given several oppertunities to get over, he just can't do it. Chavo has done more with his 3 weeks push than Kidman has in the past year.

 

One thing you can say about Helms, atleast he took the ball and ran with his gimmick. Kidman has done squat.

I'm just skipping to this.

 

Rey Rey will never make it to the main event.

 

Eddy will never make it to the main event.

 

Benoit will never be a top main eventer, but he will main some shows and I think win the title eventually.

 

Angle will absolutely be a top guy

 

Edge will get pushed to the main event...fail...then get pushed back several more times.

 

 

 

 

It's not a knock on Eddy...but even I can't see marks paying to see him main a ppv.

I agree pretty much with bps, except I think Eddie can/will excel enough to be considered and find himself in the same position as Benoit. Angle's homegrown and at this point what's holding them back is the fact that he hasn't commited to the Olympics or not, and they're afraid to push him either way until they figure it out.

 

The way the crowd reated to Angle, Eddie, and Benoit this last week just through wrestling has really surprised me though.

If any of them were on the either shows they'd probably be contenders. But than again look at Jericho. They've found a way to keep him occupied and put him below HHH's level.

 

I already see Eddie at the Benoit level pretty much. He's fodder to make their guys look good. Edge came out of the Angle feud, despite looking strong, with very little momentum. Eddie had those matches to make Edge look strong but vulnerable and likeable. I liked the last match tonight alot; Eddie basically playing the part of the veteran, slowing down Edge, picking his spots, dismantaling him, etc. And they kept the last part of the match at a nice brawling pace so he could sell effectively, and everything else clicked. I could see Edge going after Lesnar sooner or later but I doubt he's going to win. Like I said, if Angle doesn't commit they'll probably renew a push and give him direction, and expect WrestleMania.
