Guest SmarkySmark Report post Posted February 27, 2002 I don't necessarily know if anyone will reply, but that's not my intent. I just wanna give my view of things. Sometimes I wonder if some people go into each show thinking, "alright what stupid stuff can I find in this show." instead of trying to enjoy the show. I think some people actually sit through a show with a note pad and jot down every thing they see wrong. Then they rush as fast as they can, completely happy with themselves as they expose to the world what is wrong with the booking and storylines. I have seriously been coming to this board for a year and over that time I have not seen one day go by where someone is not complaining. I know it can't possibly be that bad that you complain everyday. So here is my look on what is good and bad as of now in the wwf. The Good: The nWo in two weeks have looked 1000 times stronger than the whole alliance ever did. Are you happy?? They've broken cinder blocks over Austin's knee they ran over the Rock's Ambulance. The worse the Alliance ever did was throw some people through tables...and you say the nWo isn't being made to look threatening...sheesh! They can't be "cool heels" they were too liked in wcw when they first came in. In fact the fans loved them and I attribute the ratings rise to people WANTING to see the nWo beat wcw. This time around they don't want "cool heels" they want guys who will brutally attack Austin and Rock with cinder blocks and Eighteen Wheelers. Regardless of the execution No Way Out had a card of matches in which every match had a back story and a buildup which is more than they can say for the PPV's before that. Wrestlemania looks to be the same. Each match may look odd at first, but they have good build up. Angle was pissed so he wanted to make an example out of someone. In doing so he brutalized Kane and now Kane wants revenge (this is your good old fashioned wrestler wants revenge for being humiliated by another...good emotion for a mid card short build up match). Rock and Hogan will be good if the two of them practice beforehand. Plus I have a good feeling that this will be The Rock's match that solidifies his place in history (this is a match that has good build up and good history making qualities if not for the simple fact that it's a matchup you thought you'd never see) Austin and Hall is another with good buildup with the whole cinder block incident. We are getting to see RVD vs. Regal and not Edge vs. Regal. The Christian/DDP connection could provide some funny moments and maybe even a good tag team. The gay bar scene was bad, but I did get quite a laugh out of the "The door is locked" skit. And the attack on the APA was pretty good. Bradshaw being thrown through the glass on that pinball machine was brutal. But I have to say as far as gay storylines this one isn't as tasteless as past ones. The APA aren't calling Billy and Chuck fags or trying to bash them. APA is surprisingly taking a lighter approach to them even joking about the Valentine gifts. They could have had APA be hateful and spit on Billy and Chuck and call them names, but instead they are refraining. The Bad: There is a lack of tag teams. Could we atleast throw in two more teams and make the tag team matchup a four way? Even with a somewhat decent build up the APA vs. Billy and Chuck isn't WrestleMania quality. With 3 weeks till Wrestlemania we only have 6 matches set for Wrestlemania with storylines already in motion...what else will we see at wrestlemania? The segment between HHH/Stephanie/Jericho on RAW did nothing to further that storyline. HHH wasn't pissed, Jericho did nothing to make their match more intesne. If anything it lightened up HHH instead. This match so far is the only one that has little emotional build up...but it could have had some if the tape Jericho showed did something to piss off HHH. Yes even I can look at the wwf and see bad things, but from here on out let's try to counter act that by listing things we do like too.
