Online Canadian DVD Retail

Does anyone know of a good site that sells DVDs out of Canada. Preferably one that list their prices in both Canadian and U.S. dollars.

 

I already know about Amazon.ca, but I'm hoping someone can tell me about others they've used.

Well i asked about where i could buy Canadian DVDs a few weeks ago and CHUD gave me the following site...

I'm not sure if that's what you wanted or not. It only lists the Canadian price but has a convert button so you can find out the US price.

The conversion rate is usually around $1USD=$1.50CDN. I'd use that as a general guideline.

 

I've used futureshop.ca before, but normally I just go to DVD Wave in Richmond Hill, ON and buy stuff from there when I'm in T.O. I haven't gone to their flea market location yet but I heard that prices are even better. Mind you if you're not in the Toronto area you're kinda SOL...

$1.00 US = $1.57850 CAD as of this typing but adding half of the US price to the full price is easier for me.

 

FutureShop.Ca is really good for browsing, but I prefer going to the store since they got really high shipping rates and most of it in store costs a few bucks less than on the website.

I would highly recommend www.cnl.com. They have pretty much every movie ever and shipping is fast. If I order Tuesday the movies are in by Friday for sure.

Can someone help me the opposite way? I'm trying to find a good US site where I can order Pulp Fiction SE and Jackie Brown SE for a really good price and one that doesn't involve me paying customs.

 

The Canadian versions of those two discs have flimsy cardboard packaging, missing inserts and of course, bilingual covers.

I wouldn't think that you'd have trouble finding sites that sell US discs. What do most US sites charge you for customs or something.

I read some those sites and some made you pay the Canadian price even if from the states.

 

Now i understand that part of it. However if i paid with Credit Card would i be paying the Canadian price or the converted US price.

 

Did any of that make sense?

No I meant I'm looking for the a place that sells it for a really really cheap price.

If I just went to any site, the US conversion on top of shipping on top of customs would cost a lot.

 

And if you paid with a credit card, they'd charge you Canadian funds but the card will convert the CAD price to US. (Am I confusing you even more?)

From my experience, you'd have to win an eBay auction, eat the shipping costs and tell them to declare it as a "gift" valued at under $50, which should save you the ridiculous amount of duty that you'd have to pay on the stuff.

Well i think i understand the whole pay in Canadian dollars be charged US dollars thing. But yes it is one of those "huh?" things.

The prices at the Flea Market are better. I've been going to the DVD Wave FM location for 4 years, before the retail store even opened. It's amazing the money I have saved shopping there, and they always get the genre catalogue titles.
