Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 27, 2002 ...and it sucks. That isn't news, but I have a question: Can you toss/slam/drive someone through the roof in the HitC mode? I had Big Show chokeslam Trish, but NO POBO.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted September 27, 2002 If you look really close, you can see that the areas in the middle will get darker every time you drop someone onto them. It takes about 3 or 4 slam/drive moves to send them crashing to the mat. One incident saw me as Tazz German Suplex someone through the roof, both of us fall through, and land on the referee. And yes, it does suck. But I wasted $50 on it. Luckily, you only wasted $5.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 27, 2002 Ah, thanks. Taking out the ref is about the only thing I like in this game.
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted September 27, 2002 damnit, why does nobody like this game
Guest razazteca Report post Posted September 27, 2002 I liked the game, it has easy controls for me, its probably a psycology thing that people dislike.
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted September 27, 2002 damnit, why does nobody like this game Probably because it sucks. I'm going to have to try and do that going through the cell onto the ref thing.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 28, 2002 The lack of selling is one of the many, many things wrong with this game. Using Trish and Show again, I had the two engage in a HiaC match. We were up on the roof, and I (Show) tossed her off onto the floor below (it wasn't intentional, but it looked cool). I climb down, toss her in the ring, go for the cover...and I get a two count. What. The. Fuck.
Guest Grenouille Report post Posted September 28, 2002 I didn't waste $50 on it, but my friend did. This game can be so damn frustrating. I played an elimination match against the APA and Flair, and kicked their asses for about 30 minutes without getting a pin. Bradshaw hits me with a weapon, and gets the pin right away. Bullshit like this pisses me off. In other wrestling game cheapness...In my ASPW II match today I'm playing as Keiji Mutoh against Riki Choshu. I work on his legs for 4 minutes, and he's quickly in trouble to submit. I go for Riki's scorpion deathlock to get the win, but he rolls through it, gets up hits me with a lariat and wins at 4:38. Cheap A.I.
Guest KANE Report post Posted September 28, 2002 The reason it stinks is because there's only 5 front moves and 5 back moves. Plus, the way they do the Royal Rumble (everyone hangs on) makes a fast paced match really slow. And that used to be my favorite match type in wrestling games. Another thing, THQ can have 7 guys on the screen at a time (4 wrestlers, ref, J.R. and King), but for the Rumble, you can't get 7 people in there at once? There's no ref, and just take away J.R. and King (you can't hit them in a regular match anyway!) Come on, THQ, throw me some kind of bone as to why I payed for this game! Guest razazteca Report post Posted September 28, 2002 Iron Man Match is fun but if you don't have a submission forget about it easy controls = fun
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted September 28, 2002 its like Raw in a way. its a pain in the ass at first, but when you play it for a while, and like raw, master the pyschology, its an addictive game. I neglect to play raw for nearly 3 months until my cousin played it and showed me a few pointers. Its a complete 180 from No Mercy
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Another fun part of Hell in a Cell. With some moves, if you hit the breakable pannel closer to the edge of the cage, when you both go through, your opponent can go falling into the ring and take out the ref, and you can fall all the way out of the ring to the mat on the floor. Somehow, that doesn't kill you, however. One very annoying part of HiaC is that you can't jump in through the top. Me and my friend were Edge and Christian (Guess who I was) vs. Jeff Hardy, and we were all fighting on top of the cell, and I couldn't get the Unprettier on Jeff no matter how hard we beat him down. Suddenly, he hit a Twist of fate through the next pannel over, sending me through the cage and leaving my friend up top. He wasn't able to climbe through and stop the pin. Guest Doomsault Report post Posted September 29, 2002 As the resident despiser of this game I felt that I had to say something. It's not this is necessarily a bad game but it's just that it should have been so much better. P.S. Thanks to a rewards coupon from Media Play, I only wasted 40 bucks on this game. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted September 30, 2002 I enjoyed when I first got it, but having unlocked everything its not that much fun anymore. Hopefully THQ has taken notes and will go back to the No Mercy style control and add some sort of story mode, even if its no better than the one in No Mercy.
