Record Labels Request Online Sabotage Rights

Recommended Posts

They're trying to make destruction of personal property (the files on a person's PC count as personal property) LEGAL? Well, then, we need to get as many hackers as we can to delete every file the RIAA has on their PCs...

The real funny part is, I believe you're allowed to possess MP3's, with no right for anyone to bitch, if you own the CD.

So what if some MP3 files "accidently" get deleted, but you have the CD sitting right there in your house? They have NO right to even consider that - Does that mean they have to ask every single person if they have such MP3's on CD, or what?

Over half of America is online, and probably 90% of that have MP3's.

Are they going to go through millions upon millions of computers to delete them.

FUCK THEM. Buy firewalls. Free the gnomes.

Those anuses are gonna have a hard time once the "common thieves" begin their counter measures.

I know that when my band starts to get some music out there, I am gonna be uploading songs to people MYSELF. It's the new tape trading and they can't stop it

Eh, screw them.

If CD's weren't so grossly overpriced, there wouldn't BE this problem.

Guess just invest in a firewall and make sure you have a good virus scanner to scan for their "legal" worms and trojans.

Or else everyone boycotts CD's produced by all the major labels. I'll gladly lead that movement.

I barely buy CDs released by major labels as is. Only major label I'll buy from is Elektra, and that's only because I'm awaiting Metallica's next album (and that will be the only Elektra artist I'll purchase). Otherwise, pretty much strictly Metal Blade and Century Media purchases here.

MP3s aren't even CD quality, you have to screw around with bass boosts and stuff on Cool Edit to get it up to the level where'd you'd burn it onto a CD.
