Does anyone remember when Beyond the Mat is showing on USA. I saw a commercial for it earlier today, but forgot when it was coming on.

 

Of course it will be so edited that it won't be the same, but it's cool that it's showing on TV.

They've been showing the unedited version on Starz, Encore, and the True Stories pay channel on DirecTV pretty often for a long time now, so if you have those channels, check for it. Also, you can probably pick up the video/DVD used at Hollywood video for a couple bucks like I did.

As much as I hate to say this...FUNK's commentary sucks! It'll put you right to sleep.

 

He goes on and on about the smallest things and actually adds little to the enjoyment of the movie...I was VERY disapointed after watching it with Terry's commentary, that was actually the deciding factor in me getting the dvd.

 

If only there were New Jack commentary...that could've been entertaining.

I've seen the unedited version. I'm just curious to see the TV version.

 

I really liked Foley's commentary on the DVD.

Whatever happened to the director's cut second edition....ermm, lemme clear this up. I have seen the theatrical version, and the version that has 3 extra scenes with Justin Credible and the Samoan guy among a few others, yet in Tower Video awhile back they had ANOTHER edition that had about 35 more minutes of footage, I never bought it, assuming it would come on DVD, and of course the VHS tape is gone, and the DVD release is NOT that cut of the film......so does anyone know where this mystery cut of the film is?? I think I will check IMDB

I own the vhs special edition/director's cut, that has the extra 36 mins after the movie, also has th eaaded scenees of Justin and Afa and crap. I could swear that the special edition was on dvd also with those 35 mins. is there anyone can help these guys out?

 

btw, on USA, they have the added scenes of justin and samoan. also had the part at the beginning where it shows the young barry blausteen going to his first pro wrestling show and seeing the wrestle rin the parking lot with his wife, this was not in the original edition. I know cuz I rented the orginal, then realized I shouldve bought it, but thankfully found the special edition but alot of the shots, including the begining when they show titan towers now is in regualr video mode as opposed to movie mode. you know what i mean the effect is different, like those in a sitcom such as say married with children and a movie or another sitcom like friends. you know what I mean?

 

imo the special edition is best, the extra 36 mins is fun, especially the part showing foley becoming dude love for the first time (complete w/ your vince russo fix for the week, as he explains things to mick, plus HBK being silly)

also has afa relating a story of his eye coming out of its socket during a match, plus tommy dreamer detailing all his injuries, taz, more indepth interview wiht chyna, plus a little more (funny bit with jake and greg valentine in the bathroom in there)
