Guest Brian Report post Posted September 29, 2002 I was thinking they could book WrestleMania with Brock and Angle by having Brock cheat a bunch to beat Angle at Vengeance, with the SSP in the end. Have Angle be the first to kick out of the F-5. They could hype that match as being Angle's decision making match, whether he will choose Olympics or not based on how he fares against Brock. Make it seem realistic at Vengeance, maybe even hold a press confrence afterward to get some mainstream exposure, where Angle says he has elected not to attend the 2004 Olympics. You need to paint Kurt as being this underdog, sympathetic character by having him being beaten out on the mat by Brock's power. Wins the rumble. SmackDown after No Way Out Brock needs to attack Eric, ala Taker/Flair. Except lay in a real stiff beating. And just toy around with him, maybe even do some mat wrestling, and just set him up and pound the hell out of him. Just taunting Angle constantly. He needs to totally bring light to the fact that Angle chose not to attend the games because he couldn't cut it, that Brock is only three years out of his career while Angle if seven, that Angle can't hang with him in the ring. Have Angle "re-train" with Jackson and Gardener. Show Angle and Brock training, like they did for Rock/Brock. Third week in, Angle needs to get a shot at Brock only to have Heyman stop it and Brock hits the F-5, and toys around with Angle, mat wrestling him like a dummy. Than, put together a WrestleMania packagae starting with their amateur careers, evolving into their pro, showing their hard work, and hyping a battle of moves, where the meld them all together; F-5/AngleSlam, Shooting Star Press/Moonsault, and anklelock/bearhug. Guest The Superstar Report post Posted September 29, 2002 That would be a great idea, and a long running feud with the climax being Angle winning the title would be a excellent.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Or Angle could just win the Rumble, maybe
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Yeah, Angle wins the rumble.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I was thinking at one point Brock needs to beat up Angle, take the medals and sport them as if saying he should have been a gold medalist.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted October 1, 2002 If we hadn't already seen medal stealing courtesy of Benoit and later Austin, that wouldn't be a bad idea. As it stands, I doubt fans are going to care that much about the medals. Great idea all around, but you kept calling the December PPV Vengeance. Seeing that's what they called July's, it's going to be something else. Aren't they going back to Armageddon?
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Ehh, I just sort of got used to it. The difference in this feud is that Brock has a legitimate claim to actually having a shot at the medals (though not in the same year), being an amateur wrestler, and it will make the mat sequences in the match with Brock as the powerhouse and Angle as quick and agile all the more heated. Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted October 8, 2002 I'm stealing this from a call I heard on Live Audio Wrestling one time and slightly modifying it...but hey, sue me. Angle announces that he's leaving the WWE in 2003 to go and work on his Olympic career. He's coming back eventually, just leaving for the time being. The WWE can run vignettes of Angle training ala The Rock from SummerSlam and shit like that. They play him up huge as a face, giving him big victories in big matches. Then it happens. Brock Lesnar comes and destoys Angle, perhaps focusing on a body part, let's say the arm. Angle's arm is so badly damaged, that the doctors tell him there's no way he can make the tryouts for team USA for the 2004 Olympics. Lesnar has done it. He has killed Angles chances of making the US team. Angle snaps. It's go time, baby. His arm heals up in about a month, just in time for Royal Rumble, where Angle is a surprise entrant and wins the damn thing bah gawd. Build for WrestleMania from there. Guest Brian Report post Posted October 8, 2002 Last man knocked out could do a thing where he says that Angle wasn't medically cleared to wrestle so he couldn't compete and take that for a month. Anyways, I could mold that into my idea by having Steph (or whomever) give Angle the title shot to try and persuade him otherwise or something. One thing for sure, I think they need to give Angle/Brock the feel of being more than just a pro-wrestling match, not shooto or rock/Austin, but just having tons of pride and everything on the line.
