...the administration? I noticed that Slapnuts00 covered the legislature (Congress), the judiciary (legal system), and the civil service, but he left out the executive branch. Note that I'm not talking about the President alone; I'm talking about the administration as a whole. This includes the Cabinet and prominent advisors and officials such as Dr Rice.

I've nulled my vote, but for the record, it would obviously be:

A) A great deal

C - Not much. I very much like Powell and the job that he's doing, and I think Bush is doing a decent job overall. However, I very much dislike some of the ultraconservative hawks (Cheney, Rumsfeld), and I absolutely despise Ashcroft.

D. I think they're doing a good job with the Iraq situation, but I haven't heard of them doing anything too exceptional in terms of affairs here at home.

B) I have quite a lot of faith in this administration especially when it comes to the war. When it comes to other issues, I don't think Bush is trying hard enough to get past being in the center. I understand that the house and senate are practically split down the middle, but I wish he and his administration would stop pandering to the left so much. The president and his advisors should spend more time pleasing those that voted him into office (conservatives like myself) rather than trying to appeal to wishy washy moderates.

Most importantly though, I trust this administration and feel that there's a thick layer of honesty and morality. The same can't be said for the previous administation where there seemed to be a cloud of suspicion around everything they did.

Yeah. It's a relief to have someone in the White House who understands that moral character is the single most important thing about being President.

C) I believe what they're doing in Iraq is good, but I believe that when they're done they will continue to screw up the environment. Who gives a flying fuck about medicare and social security at this point, compared to the environment it's irrelevant!!!

I said B because, as much as I may rail against them, they have yet to really screw anything up badly and are finally taking some kind of concrete stance on Iraq. It also didn't collapse into any kind of panic after 9/11. Terrorism measures are superb so far. The willingness to go along with stem-cell research, although limited, is a good sign.

What kept me from going all out is the environmental record. DrTom reminded me, Ashcroft as well.

I went C -- I like who's at the top, but the red-tape on down makes everything seem meaningless, imo...

I'm really concerned as to how things will turn out after we win this war and the Prez has to deal with things within this country, as opposed to issues in the middle east. Personally, I don't think he'll do that great, but I'm eternally pessimistic.

Whats his record on domestic affairs like?

Wasn't there some tax cuts or something which went really badly or was I misinformed?

You're misinformed. The tax cuts would of worked had the Clinton/Gore administration not cooked the books by 30%, which is part of the reason why the economy is in its current shape.

The economy is fine. Instability isn't always bad, and tax cuts are always good.

B. I usually reserve my As for the exception administrations, like Reagan's. Bush's government is good, its just that Clinton left them such a huge mess, anyone short of Jesus becoming president would have problems. I give his government an E.

I know SKBF is an idiot, but did we really have to insult him for his opinion, no matter what it is? Sheesh.

This is true. Every presidency is going to have problems because no country is perfect and the President is usually graded upon what goes on during that time period. It's tougher for more conservative presidents because they're not so quick to demand legislation to fix every little problem that can and will come up. Especially today, when there's the mentality that the government is the "be all and end all" to solve every little issue. It just wouldn't be popular in today's America for Bush to say "let the market repair itself" on economic issues.

SKBF-

Why did you vote no confidence in your goverment. I personally think they've been doing a very good job all things considered, but I just wanna know why you have no confidence at all.

I believe SKBF is a socialist, so naturally, he has a hatred towards everything that the US Government stands for.

No, he's a guy who derives his political standing from RATM songs and nothing else.
