Happy birthday Tajiri!

It's too bad that he won't be getting any form of "present" from the WWE. He's still stuck in his role as "that guy who always hangs out with Knoble & Nidia", and I haven't even seen him on TV in weeks (although I haven't seen Velocity in a while). I remember that period when he first came in and he was being used as a "silent killer" type role, but since then he hasn't done a whole heck of a lot. Even the Tarantula was turned into a semi-comedy spot by Funaki for a couple weeks.

Happy b'day F'naki!

I wonder what he did to be punished by jobbing to Mark Henry...

Oh yeah, he's not 300lbs.

To change the topic a bit, where does everyone see Tajiri in a few years?

The comparisions to Muta have been made but does Tajiri have what it takes to ever make an impact in the HW division like Muta did. Tajiri is only 5'7 and doesn't have much muscle mass, Muta was over 5'10 and was thicker than Tajiri. Mic work is so important today, Tajiri will probably never be good on the mic thus will never get a big push.

I see Tajiri wrestling no more than two or three years in the WWE, maybe winning the cruiserweight belt a time or two but never going higher than that. Then he will go back to Japan and be a Junior as he isn't big enough to ever compete on a HW level there either.

Eskimo, you're confusing your Japanese men. It's Tajiri's birthday, not Funaki's. It's understandable, after all, they're foreign and Japanese-so they're just funny guys! Lolz!!!1111

Tajiri was crazy over when they pushed him. I don't see why they stopped and made him a jobber.

I would love to see that.

I'll make sure to watch that episode of Velocity.

it could be a Smackdown Main Event but of course it would have to be in California or Texas to get any kind of crowd reaction

He was just on the last SD, teaming w/ Knoble against C&B.

Happy birthday <Austin> Tie-jiri </Austin>

I've heard that personally, Tajiri doesn't even really enjoy wrestling all that much. It just happens to be something he's good at. So considering that, I'd figure he'd wrestle maybe a couple more years now that he's making some good money in the WWE, and retire while still rather young and healthy.

maybe tajiri can join up with his old master regal and join the un americans, and then he can be their head spokesman, so he will come out and cut anti america promos...entirely in japanese

Whoops. Must have missed that match... seriously, was it the opener or something, because I only saw two matches last week, the main event and the Edge/Eddie spectacle.

Chavo/Rikishi was the opener. The Torrie/Nidia bikini thing was next, which set up the Tajiri/Knoble vs. C&B match.

It was a pretty good match. Tajiri & Knoble worked over Billy's knee, and Billy sold it like a champ, going so far as to collapse off an irish whip. C&B won.
