Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 The main issue in the contract negotiations is shippers' desire to bring more automated systems to the ports, which the union leaders fear will cost jobs. "We cannot budge on outsourcing of our work. We cannot ever agree with an employer that's willing to take our work and give it to others." - James Spinosa for ILWU CNN story ------- Yeah, because God forbid we ever get rid of unnecessary jobs. After all, it only makes sense to pay people more and more to do things less and less efficiently. Chrissakes. As if the farm subsidies aren't bad enough.

Guest MrRant Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 It's this type of stuff that makes me not like unions. I understand why they were created but this type of stuff is BS.
