Guest FeArHaVoC Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Hulk Hogan's WWE Future In Question, Contract Could Be Up It appears that Hulk Hogan's WWE future is in serious question. Sources claim that Hogan's WWE deal could have already been fulfilled, or that Hogan has an option to end the deal early and become a free agent. Reports indicate that Hogan's deal may have infact been only 6 months, not the 1 year that was originally reported. Hogan has been off WWE TV for over a month now and was last seen being beaten down by Brock Lesnar. Hogan was scheduled to work the WWE Australia tour in August but did not work the show after he and Vince McMahon had a falling out over pay. Interestingly enough, Jim Ross has not even made mention of Hogan in his weekly WWE.com Ross Report. It should be noted that Hogan does have a new autobiography coming out that is a joint publication with WWE, so if WWE still has access to use him, they will want to do so in order to promote the book. In another interesting bit, Hogan's nephew Horace Hogan, who got hired by WWE to do Hulk's influence, was released last week. ChrisMWaters Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 You know...Hogan should stay in WWE after he retires from wrestling. Now here me out...he may not have tried this before, but if Savage could, why couldn't Hogan? What am I talk about, you may ask? Simple: Color Commentarry. Think aobut it: what better way for Hogan to stay on camera, yet not have anyone complain about his in-ring skills? Doing commentarry may be the best thing that could happen for Hogan.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 What would Hogan be able to add to commentary? A bunch of "brother"s? Right...
Guest Brian Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Hogan had a certain amount of dates to fulfill as part of his contract and allegedly he has done that. Hogan's claim of working without a contract is unfounded. McMahon wouldn't let that happen; and I doubt Heyman would center TV around an uncontracted wrestler, even one of Hogan's stature, especially after the Kulas ordeal.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Now I know that the "new Hulk" doesn't mind putting over the young stars, but there's no way in the most frigid , frozen day of hell that Hogan's last WWE memory will be that loss to Lesnar. I mean Hulk still carries grudges from 80's! I expect him to be back in some form so he can leave with some kind of "glory". After all, this is Hogan we're talking about.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Its well known that even Retired Wrestlers can still have a career in Wrestling even in a PR standpoint or to Commentary. Having Hulk as a Elder Face and used for Promotional Services wouldn't be a bad idea. Some think that it maybe even a better service Hogan can do than to wrestle. As Hogan goes as wrestling he has declined almost to the point of not being entertaining. He's legacy can be maintained if he can simply represents the WWE and not wrestle for it. Its not Like Freddie Blassie is still managing people, but he still represents the WWE. Same as Tony Garea, the 80's prelim wrestler. Steve Lombardi also a Rep.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Do Vince v. Hogan and then retire him. But if that's the last we saw of Hulk then farewell and thanks for the memories
Guest subliminal_animal Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I hated Hogan, but his willingness in his last run has made him grow on me. I hope that isn't true, just because I don't want the last memory of Hulkamania to be getting demolished by the Current Big Thing. What would Kulas' not having a contract have to do with Heyman's position on Hogan if he didn't have one Brian?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 JR: "Benoit with the hammerlock suplex on Angle" Hogan: "I invented that move at the Tokyo Dome in '84, when Mutho tried to shoot on me, brother!"
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Hulk Hogan called into the Bubba the Love Sponge Radio Show this morning. He told Bubba that he is currently working for WWE without a contract and only has a handshake deal with Vince McMahon. His handshake deal with McMahon, he adds, has also been fulfilled, and he said that WWE's creative department now has nothing for him to do. He said he hasn't talked to anyone in WWE in weeks and has no idea whether he will be back or not. Credit: 1wrestling.com
Guest buffybeast Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Please, for the love of God and all of humanity, keep Hogan away from color. He's horrible. They could maybe bring Hogan back as a physical manager. He could maybe have a stable of young guys. I do agree that he should not wrestle. Maybe one last match where he comes out on top and poses for like 15 minutes, then goes away.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I'd like to see Hogan return to the WWE before he retires from wrestling and have a match against Vince, possibly at Wrestlemania 19. Vince vs. Hogan is one of my dream matches, so I'd most definately want to see that match.
Guest Brian Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Mainly because of the liability factor that Heyman has already faced once. With Hogan's legal force at hand, Heyman wouldn't dare try taking an uncontracted wrestler again, no matter what (or if) the stunt.
Guest IB2BLACK Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I don't believe this. Why would they the title on a wrestler without a contract, not to mention all the merchandise. Vince not that stupid.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Hulk talks too much on the Radio shows, Bubba the Lovesponge is like...well a Lovesponge to Hogan anyway. So its like Hogan's Show to say whatever. Half the stuff he says on air never pans out anyway, so I dunno what he reaction he is trying to get by saying that.
Guest The Superstar Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 It's funny how during all of Hogan's big 'comeback' (jobbing to everyone under the sun) the only person that DIDN'T beat him was Jericho...
