Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted February 27, 2002 Well I got back two days ago from Vegas and had not had the time yet to do this yet, so today here it is. MEET AND GREET: I got there before it started and there were a few people on line, mostly some older "smarks" and some wannabe wrestlers. We saw most of the wrestlers walking in. Reno was hanging out in the lobby and Brian Adams (he is HUGE) walked past us to go into the theatre . Brian Christopher was next and the guys there were yelled wheres scotty and all this junk . Devon Storm was mobbed by some fans as he was wlaking and talking on his cell phone. So they finally let us in. Now it cost 40 bucks to get in and of course I blow my cash on it (I'm just too much of a fan). The wrestlers were all sitting at this big table and we all lined up and went thru the line, getting autographs from the guys. They gave us free PPV posters for them to sign, and they would also sign anything else we wanted (too bad I didn't bring any old mags or posters). One guy had a whole set of WCW and WWF cards. They also posed for pics and let us take pics with them if we wanted. Unfortunately I was there by myself so I could only get pics of them and not of me and them (that sucked). The wrestlers there were: Brian Christopher, Kronik, Lenny and Lodi (I didn't recognize him at first cuz of the shaved head), Devon Storm, Tony Mamaluke, Nova, Reno, Alan Funk (Kwee-Wee, now the Funkster, I didn't even know it was him till the next night at PPV), The Midgets, The Ring Announcer, Disco Inferno. Later, Terry Taylor, Scott Steiner,Shark Boy, Jeff Jarrett, and Sabu showed up. The guys were all nice, even Steiner (who I was tentaive to even talk to lol and btw ROIDS ARE BAD.) The guys were cracking jokes with each other and talking out of character so I heard a few good stories. Disco was loud and talked the most. He told me that he introduced Jericho to his wife since I had a Jericho shirt on, I was all like ok (who cares). He also claimed that he was the one who came up with Kwee-wee and alot of other junk (yea right Disco) Jeff Jarrett was the nicest as he shook my hand and talked to me and everyone else. He was very humble and answered every question. The guy with the cards even gave him a card with him and Debra to sign and he did and made some jokes. Someone asked him if he's ever going back to the WWF and he said "I don't think so" Funny that someone asked Scott where Rick was at and he said he didn't know. When Terry Taylor came in all of us smarks yelled "Hey The Red Rooster". And Bill Apter of PWI was there taking pictures. I seemed to be the only one who knew who he was (besides the wrestlers). He was funny and he joked to me "It would be a lot easier if I actually had film in this camera". Nova and Lodi asked Lenny Lane if he would get up on his chair and do the Jericho "Cmom Baby" pose lol. So I asked Lenny if he would take a picture with me and pretend to be Chris lol and he really does look a lot like him. Kronik was hungry so I told them to try the pizza upstairs. Some guy came by with pretzels and Nova asked him where he got them so the guy gave them to him lol. Nova was silly and trying to act cool. Brian Christopher (who I called Mr. Lawler) tried to much to sound "ghetto" and it cracked me up. I really wanted to ask him "whose drugs were they then" but I didn't. All in all it was pretty fun, and the guys were nice so it was a cool night for me. I'll be back later to post my on-site report for the PPV itself. Later. Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted February 27, 2002 Ok I'm back now with my thoughts from live at the show WWA: Revolution We got there before the doors opened. Scott Steiner walked right past me to go shoot his arrving scene I guess. He is scary. At the Meet he kinda bumped into me and when I turned around I was really scared for some reason, as were most fans. Well the doors opened about 3:30. There were not that many fans there at the time, but most at least had on wrestling shirts, so I know THEY were fans. They wouldn't let us into the theatre and our seats until after 4. It was weird how much security they had and how adament they were about the time, considering there were less then 100 fans there at the time. My dad and I kept joking about how there were more security people and hotel workers then fans there. Some security lady heaard us and said that they were expecting 7000 people. Boy did we laugh our buts off at that one! So they let us in and we had great setas in the fourth row to the left of the stage. We paid 50 bucks for them and were pleased. The dumb security guys kept checking my ticket everytime I left to go to the restroom or food line. I was like chill out man! How stupid is that? The attendence was pitiful at the beginning. I think most of the people were outside in the vending/ merchandise area but I have little clue were all those people came from at the end. We concluded that they were obviously comped. And speaking of merchandise, those jerks charged 15 bucks for a program and 25 for t-shirts. No way would I pay that! Most of the fans were spread out but as the show started more people showed up. Most were comped. I guess that only a few hundred actually paid for their seats. Then they moved everyone down to make it look fuller. Boy were we mad! We paid good money and some people got in free or paid less and got good seats! Now as for the lack of crowd heat, I think it was due to mostly casual fans and non-fans being there. Obviously the younger kids have only seen WWF (which they proved with the what chants) and had no clue as towho the wrestlers were (except for Brian Christopher I belive, as the crowd got into his match the most since they knew him and prob JJ too) The real harcore fans were few and far between which made for a sucky atmosphere especially the old guys in front of me who were obviuosly comps talking about how fake it was. This angered me and a guy ahead of me who was a real fan. The fireworks were nice, the band sounded ok live. But what a waste of time. The cruiserweights all ran out during the opening video. I think that the set was nice and the pyro pretty impressive. Too bad they don't spend more on production values. Another sad note is that they were planting signs in the crowd. They even gave me a lame Disco one, and I ripped it up and laughed in their face. Notes: I enjoyed the opener and so did MOST of the people there. Too bad the camera missed a lot. I was making "smart" comments left and right and people near me seemed confused. So of course I yelled "Marks" at them. I even yelled "I wonder what Scott Keith will give this match" to weird looks. Anytime the crowd chanted what, I told them how gay they were and how were not at Raw or something. Bret stumbling in his words saddened me as I was happy to see him. During the three way cruiserweight belt match, the crowd didn't know anyone but Eddy and sat on their hands for most of it, only noise being the annoying guys infront who kept yelling taco bell jokes and the like. I think 10 people recoginzed Jerry Lynn and what a shock it was to see him! I didn't even know that he had been released yet. No one seemed to know who Fonzie was, except for me and a few others who were excited to see him back.. I tried to get a RVD chant going but I think that confused the casual fans and the comps . Larry Zybysko bored me to death with his interview. When he mentioned Jericho, some guy yelled out "Jericho Sucks" so I yelled "No he doesn't" the guy turned around and seemed mad and/or confused. I then yelled Go Jericho Go really loudly but I don't think you can hear it on the tv broadcast. The commentary was only piped in at times and during the midget match. A funny note is before the Lenny and lodi match, Lenny threw his lollypop at the crowd and it landed on some kid who ws mad. the people around him told him to throw it back, so he did and it hit ref Slick Johnson in the side of the head. That woke up the crowd. Then security took him and his dad away but they came back soon after. Don't know if this was a plant or if he knew someone or paid off or whatever. You can see Johnson get hit on TV if you watch closely, he moves his head to the side and looks. The main was ok and the crowd fighting was cool . This was the match with the biggest heat like I said. After the show went off the air the announcer thanked us for coming and we left. All in all, it was fun live despite the lame crowd. I wish I hadn"t spent so much money on it but I have some good memories. Too bad I didn't bring a camera to the actual show as I was close, but the ticket said no cameras. LIARS. I hate the Aladdin Hotel for being so greedy and having annoying security people. Vegas is always fun and this just made my day. And I have a big poster with lots of autographs so it's all cool.
