Whatreallyhappened is one of the most blatantly offensive websites I've ever seen, taking real events and real people and then claiming that they're all just some sort of huge conspiracy to fuck over people like themselves. I Dissected one of their idiot theories, "The Bumble Planes", it's about a dozen or so pages back down in General.

What strikes me as weird is that, according to this theory, CapHillBlue and Wired are posting articles on the internet to discredit the internet.

 

I'd think guys like him discredit the net more than some of the junk that is part of the 'conspiracy' to do so.

The thing that gets me about conspiracy nuts is how they INSIST that they are right, and everyone else is an ignorant dupe at best, if not a willing participant in the EVIL CONSPIRACY~! without being able to even admit the possibility that they might be wrong.

Ive always believed that the Government would love to find a way to censor the internet.

I mean, there are some really good reasons why (child porn, how to build bombs etc.) they should. But the main reason why they have been unsuccessful is because of the worldwide nature of the internet. The internet is unlike any other news medium in the U.S. because the government has some form of regulation on them (FCC for instance) but they really don't have any regulation on Internet Content besides pornography which is getting hit by First Amendment supporters left and right. I don't agree that the government is behind these spam emails, I would be more inclined to believe that they come from some other organization. But I do believe that at some point, the Government will get regulatory control over the content that Americans can access on the internet. I dont know how (probably some sort of blocking software at the ISP itself, similar to what China is trying to do) but Im sure that it will happen sooner than later.

I meant the hardcore types like those at whatsreallyupmysass.com, the ones who literally refuse to admit the possibility that Oswald might've shot Kennedy, or 9/11 was simply Islamic terrorists crashing planes into buildings, or what have you. The ones who see every single action by the government as some sort of plot to deprive them of their (imaginary) constitutional rights. Ya know... conspiracy nuts.
