Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 1, 2002 What was with JR and King bashing MNF the entire show...it was almost as bad as "HLA this and HLA that" When Raw was kicking ass in ratings and was the cable show that was actually taking away from football this kind of thing would have made sense...but Raw is in the shitter right now, they couldn't draw ratings through tv' offseason, and I don't see it getting better soon...so where do they have the room for this? I wouldn't mind it so much if it just didn't make for crappy televison, it was painful to listen to. It's not like this is WWF vs WCW...when one company would rip the other when they were losing in the ratings, it's football on network tv for Christ sake. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted October 1, 2002 They are just mad because MNF stole their audience (like me). Well, not so much stole as the WWF handed us over to MNF on a silver platter.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Seriously, my brother and I were flipping to football when JR metioned it during all the boring/pointless matches/segments. Stupid WWE...
Guest Leena Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I posted about this in the other football thread. Seriously, it's utter stupidity.
Guest jester Report post Posted October 1, 2002 When WCW was kicking WWF's ass, what did Vince do? a) Make a better product to retain viewers and be competitive? b) Do pointless and childish attacks on WCW that only served to remind everyone how desperate things were? When Monday Night Football was kicking WWE's ass, what did Vince do? a) Make a better product to retain viewers and be competitive? b) Do pointless and childish attacks on MNF that only served to remind everyone how desperate things were? I sure believe that guys like Show are tougher and in better shape than any ol' football player.
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I think the reason they were bashing Monday Night Football all night was mainly because yes, Monday Night Football is getting more viewers than RAW. Therefore, the WWE is trying to make RAW more entertaining, and therfore, get the viewers that switched to football back. Now's the time for the WWE to give us better storylines. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted October 1, 2002 The WWE and the NFL have been at each other's throats for ages...ever since Raw began to draw away the NFL's target demographic. So now that NFL is the one luring away the fans Raw nows feels a need to take pot shots every time they get a chance.
Guest jester Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I can't wait for the NFL to retaliate with their own HLA segment.
Guest BlackRainbow1025 Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I can't wait for the NFL to retaliate with their own HLA segment. Melissa Stark? Sorry, RAW, you just lost a viewer, haha.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I can't wait for the NFL to retaliate with their own HLA segment. Hmm. Melissa Stark and Jill Arrington (I know she does college). Bisch-who?
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Oh, Jill... Yes, Vince who? As far as I can think, there aren't any ugly female sports broadcasters. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted October 1, 2002 As far as I can think, there aren't any ugly female sports broadcasters. Just did a Google pic search on Bonnie Bernstein (since I've never known what she looks like). Damn.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted October 1, 2002 great MNF is Vince's "WCW" now... Well Sorry Vince no way in Hell you'd win a Ratings War with Football, learn from your mistakes with XFL. Just Stick with Wrestling! get back in the fricken game, your Common law Son in Law is SCREWING your Company!
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Heh, I guess it's the return of the Monday Night wars. Of course, we all remember how "great" Vince did in his last attempt to show up the NFL. Is there anything from 1996-99 they haven't tried to resurrect? Now that Road Dogg is back wrestling I guess we can expect his reunion with Billy Gunn any week now. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Sigh. Except when Vince was mindlessly bashing WCW, he did have better guys and thus a point. "This is the WWF! It's not about posing! It's not about covering a bald spot!"
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted October 1, 2002 They are so stupid. Booker T loses, I'm pissed and they mention football. I kept thinking - lets see what's happening over there in the raven's game? Niko
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Well, it was funny how they bashed MNF. Now, that Bischoff roulette....seems like a good idea. They are already hyping Survivor Series, and it still hasn't happened. Maybe it will be a great event.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 1, 2002 Notes On WWE's Decision To Take Shots At NFL & Raymond As viewers most likely noticed last night, Jerry Lawler took a lot of shots at ABC's Monday Night Football and CBS's Everybody Loves Raymond last night on RAW. The decision to bash the competition came directly from WWE management. Many were surprised that WWE took that route, since Vince McMahon has usually ignored the competition in the past, in favor of presenting an image of WWE always being on top. Guest graph9 Report post Posted October 1, 2002 The WWE is just bitter because they actually have competition from a real legitimate sport..that alot of people actually care about.. Unlike their "sport"...& its eating into their dwindling audience..Did any1 c Brain Griese sink into the ground after that hit..some of the hits were actually better than the game...oh well i still love football.. Guest candie45 Report post Posted October 1, 2002 I just thought it was funny that they bash the NFL and then they show some players in the audience.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 2, 2002 The funniest thing about the shameless MNF bashing was that they even did it during terrible matches or segments. Doesn't Vince realize that he needs to give WWF viewers that also like Football a real reason to keep Raw on? The lamest MNF bashing i heard on Raw was from Lawler during the big show match. "You can't throw a red flag into the ring and get a redo here, this is Raw dog". Not only was it a retarded comparison, but he actually said dog! I'd laugh my ass off if Madden makes a comment next week. To return the favor MNF should start giving recaps of Raw with one of those scrolling things at bottom of screen like ESPN. But neither of those will happen. A) NFL won't give Vince the attention that he's trying to get. B) NFL and ABC won't want to get into a potential war with CBS because of trying to sabotage a show on a CBS owned station.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 2, 2002 "Now, that Bischoff roulette....seems like a good idea." NO NO NO. Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal sound familiar? Booker against Jericho in a Coal Miner's Glove match! Flair against RVD in a King of the Road match! Trust me, the stipulations will suck heartily. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest graph9 Report post Posted October 2, 2002 Vince needs 2 stop it..he wants to b considered legitimate in the eyes of the mainstream press so bad...hell will freeze before that will happen.. his so called "sport"..is considered a joke in the eyes of those who aren't fans.. unlike football...they need 2 concentrate on fixing those shitty ass storylines..& better in the ring wrestling..instead of lampooning a real sport..
