Is GTA 3 overrated?

Recommended Posts

Guest Youth N Asia

I bought GTA 3 a while back...played it quite a bit, and now I'm in the 3rd city, a few missions in...and I realize that I'm just bored with the game.

It just isn't fun to me anymore...I don't even know if I'm going to finish it...It's been sitting all by itself for a month now.

I think the game is fun for a while...but once you seem to do everything it gets old pretty quick.

Nope.. I still play it, just about everday.

Of course, that's the only good game I do seem to have, since my whole Ps2 list contains FFX (Blah), Tony Hawk 3 (Blah), Harvest Moon: STH (Eh), State of Emergency (Blah), Metal Gear Solid 2 (WHOO), and SD!3 (Eh).

I don't think its over-rated at all its a tremendous game, and if you put on some cheats (street people fight, real fun) its amazing. And with your car jumping. Just makes the chase even better

I'm not able to play it hours on end, but I try to get in 1/2-1 hour every day.  That helps keep it from getting dull, otherwise it would become repetitive in only a few days.

I still have fun with it...and I've logged a good amount of time on it.

I dont think so. Even after the missions theres still a lot of fun to be had with random havoc. Trying to get to the top of various buildings and then shooting from them, flying around in the rhino etc.

State of Emergency is more of an overrated game.

I don't think it's overrated at all.  I've had it since Christmas and my friends and I are still having fun killing people, doing whores, killing said whores, working for the mob, stealing cars, etc. etc.

It's quite a game, that's for sure.  It ranks up there as one of my favorite games of all-time actually.

GTA3 is overrated. The game has no real substance to it. Sure, you can, in practice, do a lot, but it all involves driving around a city, getting out sometimes to run around (with HORRIBLE controls for firing your weapon), ad nasuem. I got bored of it within a few weeks. SoE is more overreated, though.

And to the guy who put (Bleh) for FFX- HUH? That game is easily the best FF since 6, a true work of art, in story, graphics, and gameplay (the voice acting is alright but I wish they'd give the option to have the original Japanese voice acting with subtitles, which is how I view some of my animes). The only people I could see not liking FFX are overly-religious people offended by how the whole "Yevon" thing turns out (which doesn't bother me since I'm an atheist). I just don't get how you could like such an average, boring, overrated game like GTA3 and hate a true masterpiece like FFX.

I know nothing was directed at me in the last reply but I just wanted to point out that I think both FFX and GTA3 are awesome games.

IMODO, GTA3 is a lot of fun, but after finishing it, random acts of senseless violence just don't seem as much fun...
