Guest BillyTheStud Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 This sounds like a very cool idea. Gimmick matches are cool, and this thing will give the show an unpredicable feel.
Guest bob_barron Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Gimmick matches are only cool when the match itself is cool. Stacy v. Trish?? Haven't we already established that Stacy will never ever win a match?
Guest BillyTheStud Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Well wouldnt you agree that Bischoff's presence during these segments will make it better?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I think Bischoff is doing a good job on tv really...this reeks a little too much like they're trying to pop a rating though
Guest bob_barron Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Ummmm no. If he all he is doing is spinning a wheel and saying Booker T v. Big Show in a winner must be white match well that isn't too entertaining. RAW needs long term planning and direction- a whole show devoted to Bischoff spinning a wheel is not long term planning
Guest Repo Man jr Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Now I can't see RAW till friday here but did someone fire Brian Gewertz and replace him with a wheel?
Guest notJames Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Ummmm no. If he all he is doing is spinning a wheel and saying Booker T v. Boy, did I learn that the hard way...

Boy, did I learn that the hard way... Indeed. A Kane/Bradshaw Billy Bob Bathlove match is NOT what the WWE needs right now....
Guest the pinjockey Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Now I can't see RAW till friday here but did someone fire Brian Gewertz and replace him with a wheel? No, they are just going to let the audience in on one of their typical booking sessions.
Guest Brian Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Bradshaw vs. OVW in a take it up the ass match.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 The problem the first time around is that WCW made the mistake of not rigging the wheel. The stupidest possible match on the wheel was the coal miner's glove match. So which match did it land on?? The coal miner's glove match. If they have stupid matches on there and don't rig it, chances are it will be drawn. Now if they have cool matches like Hell in a Cell, Iron Man, Submissions, etc, it could be good. I like what they are doing. Bischoff (or whoever is writing this) is making things interesting. You never know what's going to happen. They still need to work on long term booking I agree, but I don't think something like this is the problem right now. The problem is too much HHH, too many bad finishes and too many dropped angles.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Maybe we'll get Hell in A Kennel II Smell the ratings...and the dog shit
Guest snowfan Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Maybe we'll get Hell in A Kennel II Smell the ratings...and the dog shit Jericho will..... thanx Big Steph.
Guest the pinjockey Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I see a Jericho/HHH best 2 of 3 falls match where HHH wins the first two in a row. To prove that Jericho cant win once when everyone in the arena knows he should take one fall. Do you think they are actually going to have decent stips like HIAC, Ironman, I quit or will it be coal miners crap and pudding matches.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I'm sure the backstage segments will be prerecorded all day so the wheel can fall on the right matches for the guys.
Guest cabbageboy Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Nah, those places on the wheel were so small that I doubt anyone could read them so they could just make up anything they wanted. People give Spin the Wheel Make the Deal a lot of crap due to the Havoc 1992 match with Sting/Jake. Coal Miner's Glove baby! Even JR said something about that last night. The actual idea itself is cool as hell if it was rigged to land on an actual good match. For instance I think the 1993 version of STWMTD had Cactus/Vader in a last man standing or something. Much better idea.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 They should have Spike Dudley screaming all show "SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL!" Unless the wheel is gimmicked. The whole idea will suck because you end up getting crappy matches "Cole Miner's glove".
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 They should have Spike Dudley screaming all show "SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL! SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL!" They should have kept Crash on Raw for THIS ALONE
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I think people were more pissed about that video where Jake and Sting shot lazers at eachother than that crappy match. I predict no less than 3 "...on a pole" matches, and one pool of a slippery substance. I also predict I will be watching the Bears.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I wonder if that's why over the weekend the Raw house Shows had matches with Dreamer & Big Show in "Kiss My Ass" matches. ::Damns the crowds for getting behind the gimmick matches::
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 So since we know Stephy can't be outdone by Eric, what type of crap will she come up with to look even stupider than Eric?
Guest Goodear Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Unless the wheel is gimmicked. The whole idea will suck because you end up getting crappy matches "Cole Miner's glove". It damn well better be. Anything that isn't gimmicked in wrestling normally equates to a bad thing.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 This should make for an interesting RAW to be honest. I just hope they have decent stipulations, like a Cage Match or even an Inferno Match. Damn, that would be awesome to see an Inferno Match again.
Guest Masked Heel Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Damn, that would be awesome to see an Inferno Match again. No inferno matches then everyone's favorite hoss Kane would have to lose it
cawthon777 Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Vader / Cactus didn't look rigged, since Vader and Race came out to the wheel in front of everyone and spun it but I could be wrong. The Texas Death match ruled, btw. One of WCW's best matches. Being that it's Raw, I think the biggest stipulation we'll get is a cage match to end the show. Look for the rest to be gravy bowl (or a slight variation), Kiss My Ass, Leather strap, and a tables match (guess who'll be in that one?). It should be interesting.
Guest BifEverchad Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Vince and the WWE doesnt want Buff Bagwell back AT ALL. But hopefully, and please cross your fingers with me here and pray to God that they will come to their senses and sign JUDY BAGWELL! The ratings will go through the fucking roof!!! RAW 10-07-02 Live From VEGAS!! Lance Storm vs Christian (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match) Booker T vs William Regal (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match) Jeff Hardy vs Test (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match) Kane and The Hurricane vs Rosie and Jamal (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match) Rico vs Goldust (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match) Chris Jericho vs Bubba Dudley (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match) Triple H vs Rob Van Dam (Judy Bagwell on A Pole Match)
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Pardon my Ignorance, but the what the Hell is Coal Miner's Glove Match?!?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 It's a match where there's the dreaded LOADED GLOVE!! that you can use as a weapon
Guest CED Ordonez Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Not only a loaded coal miner's glove, but a loaded coal miner's glove ON A POLE~! I'm gonna mark the frick out when Kane and HHH start shooting lasers from their eyes at each other.
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Hmm... Kinda lame but also cool at the same time. Wouldn't mind seeing that happen.
