Guest Anglesault Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 HELL YEAH! I am gonna watch it. Kane gets a shot at the belt. That's an incentive...to watch?
Guest Brian Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Kane deserves it. He's had good matches in the last two years with Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Kane deserves it. He's had good matches in the last two years with Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. I could have good matches with Kurt Angle and Chris jericho. And by that logic...Why doesn't Angle or Jericho deserve a title shot?
Guest bob_barron Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I don't think Kane deserves a title shot either. Who does: A certain 5-time WCW Champion
Guest bob_barron Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I think so Brian- I kinda thought you were serious
Guest Brian Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I though the "in the last two years" part would make it sorta obvious.
Guest Goodear Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Lord, why does anyone buy any pay-per-views anymore? No WWE PPVs matter anymore since they have the same matchups the next week on TV anyway. Hell, they settled more feuds on Smackdown than they did at Vengeance. Not to mention that chance that everything you looked forward to getting screwed up somehow... I have taken a wait and see attitude since '96, and I'm not changing now. If anything is blow away good, I'll just buy the tape when it comes out.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Well it's free over here so I'll watch but it'll be 3 in the morning by the time the hosses arrive so I doubt I'll be able to stay awake for them
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I don't even watch the free shows anymore, so I would have to say no. However, what do you guys think Undertaker will do at the next PPV? Do you think he will job cleanly, go over, get screwed out of a win, or have a DQ finish?

Guest Brian Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I can't imagine after what he pulled last hsow that he'd allow Brock to go over him clean.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I don't know. When is the demon spawn supposed to pop out? Maybe he needs to take time off. And if Brock went over him clean last month, we'd need a new opponent this month, and I'm not sacrificing Angle or Benoit.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 For some reason, I keep having flashbacks to Vince Russo's shoot/promo on Hogan at Bash at the Beach.
Guest Brian Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 He didn't need to go over clean, he just didn't need to look horrible in the process of the DQ. I could have settled for a DQ had Taker sold for Brock and had Taker not man-handled him post match. Heck, if Taker knew how to throw a punch all the better. I still think they're heading towards Angle/Brock at Mania. I've typed out parts of a situation in the fantasy booking folder, to help make Angle into a better babyface. It includes Brock going over Angle semi-clean, enough to leave the fans wanting more. I wouldn't turn Benoit right now because I think they should test Eddie first since he can play the WWE face better (mic-wise).

It still bothers me that they are turning Angle face (Where is is awful) for no real reason.
Guest Brian Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Because Angle is the face they want to carry the company. Anways, if you can make Kurt Angle a sympathetic character rather than Austin-lite, who gets surges of intesity like Shamrock, I can see the fans cheering for him. Especially if you can actually make it seem like he's in the chase for the title.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 He'd play a much better dominant heel heading into uber face RVD at Mania.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Considering how incredibly enjoyable the sports bar experience was(despite me not being allowed to order drinks), I'll definitely be doing it again. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Brian Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 But he's never going to be booked as a dominant heel as long as Taker's on his show. Anyways, I think a Brock/Angle match has a lot more incentive in it than an Angle/RVD, just because first thing you have to cross the lines of the shows to do it, second there is no commitment to pushing RVD (especially with HHH there), and I think Angle/Brock has a better built in story with both being amateur wrestlers, both being amateur champions, Angle trying to recapture his glory in the Olympics but instead deciding to chase Brock, and Angle's quest to recapture the top of the fed. The main thing those is where their headed with both shows, I don't want any more crossing until Bischoff breaks off, and then we'll see where that leads. If RVD ever wins the title just leave it alone and try to build something on RAW.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I feel that Angle/RVD should be the main event as a reward to both guys for being the two most over guys and having good matches. It's an actual incentive to bust your ass. Instead of relying on his big man fetish, Vince should really use a system where over, competant workers get rewarded and unover, boring workers get punished. No names.
Guest Brian Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I believe on the other hand that if you're going to give RVD the title, you're going to start rebuilding that RAW division from the ground floor rather than run a cross-promotional feud given no real reason. Especially with the direction of the split. I'd like to have the main event be a meeting of the two champions, neither title on the line, but the RAW roster is weak right now. They desperately need to work there before worrying about the other side, just my opinion.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 If you want it to be two Smackdown guys, using my system, Angle/Eddy.
Guest Brian Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 But that would be two heels. Using you're system, either Eddie/Edge or Angle/Edge.
Guest Austin420 Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I don't think Kane deserves a title shot either. Who does: A certain 5-time WCW Champion I have to disagree with you there. Kane has busted his ass for years in the WWE and has only had the belt once, for one day. Hell, you gotta throw him a bone sooner or later. Now Booker has no business having the belt at all.(IMO) His ring skills are alot worse then Kane's, who's aren't that good either. Booker also hasn't really got a very good ring presence either. He has several moves that his opponent has to help him set up, everytime he does them. Now the only reason he had the belt 5 times in wCw was because by that time there was no one else to give it to. The Cat, Disco, Ernest Miller, or maybe Scott Norton, NOT! Now don't get me wrong, I like Booker OK, but there are alot of other guys(RVD)that deserve it alot more. Plus, I think he needs to lose the Axe Kick and do the Harlem(Houston) Hangover more often. That move is a great finisher!
Guest CanadianChick Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Austin 420, Booker is much better than Kane, but its your opinions so whatever. But there is a little thing you missed out on one thing: Booker is much more OVER than Kane. Kane is fine for uppermid card, but the fans don't care enough about him to make him a maineventer.
Guest midnight_burn Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 The WWE are seemingly doing their best to get me to not order their PPV's lately. It'll take a great undercard for me to ignore the shit filling the main events and get me to order this one.

You are partially right. The younger fans like Booker more, the older fans like Kane more. He gets huge pops whether you want to admit it or not.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 But that would be two heels. Using you're system, either Eddie/Edge or Angle/Edge. I see Eddy turning.
