Guest DARRYLXWF Report post Posted October 2, 2002 That's cool, but alot of Maiden fans would probably want another new album rather than best ofs and this. All the same, I'm getting it for sure.

Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 2, 2002 I'm picking up the Box Set for sure. Live Maiden is always good, and the B-sides look interesting, though I'm greatly dissapointed that "I Live My Way" didn't make it on there. Besides, it comes with a shot glass and the COOLEST BOX IN THE UNIVERSE. What's not to like? I ain't gonna touch Edward the Great though. I have the single-disc version of Best of the Beast, and literally, the track listing are almost identical. There's 10 songs the same, if you count Fear of the Dark as the same, although it is two different concerts. At least Best of the Beast has Virus, which no other album does. Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted October 2, 2002 isn't Virus a b-side from some single? also i think Edward the Great will be out on CD aswell
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 2, 2002 Edward the Great is the title of the Best Of CD that is being released the same day. Virus, as near as I can remember, isn't a B-Side from something else...If Baleron's Iron Maiden commentary was up, I could check, but it seems down.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 2, 2002 I might grab it, but I'm not a Maiden completist. And yes, I'd prefer to grab a new album, because it appears to me that at least 1/4 of the albums out there with "Iron Maiden" as the artist are just Best Of... compilations. Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 3, 2002 I wouldn't say that they're Best Of's so much as live albums. Best of the Beast and Ed Hunter are the only offical compilations they've put out, to the best of my knowledge. But for live CDs, they've got Live after Death, A Real Live One, A Real Dead One (Now available in a 2-disc set) Rock in Rio, and Live at Donnington. Considering they only have 12 studio albums, that means that they pretty much have one live/Best of CD for every two studio albums. Seems like an odd ratio, but they rule live, so hey. And yes, I very much want a new studio album. But if this is what we get, this is what we get.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted October 3, 2002 its weird since I have A real live one, and not a real dead one.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted October 3, 2002 Why the hell isn't "Hallowed Be Thy Name" on Edward The Great? Best Iron Maiden song ever.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 3, 2002 I *KNEW* something looked wrong with the Edward the Great album cover. It's not Derek Riggs, dammit! Oh, and according to Metal-Rules.com, we're looking at aboot £75. And no, I have no idea how much that is American or Canadian.
Guest DARRYLXWF Report post Posted October 3, 2002 That's about $130 Australian. 56 cents to an American dollar. Yes, we're that damn good.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Isn't Maiden right behind the Who and the Beatles for most compilation albums by now?
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Assuming everyone else on earth only has one, then yeah. Like I said earlier - They have 2 official Best-Of Albums, one of which is actually a Best-Of and a video game, together. All the rest are live albums. There's a difference. You forgot Maiden Japan. I'm not sure if that's still available or not, as I haven't seen it in a store in ages.
