Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I've heard/read over the past few months of plans to add another chapter to this trilogy. My question is, would it weaken this already, imo, awesome series? When I first heard of this news, I thought it would be great, but then I thought about it. Ford would be OLD Denholm Elliott is DEAD (I know he wasn't in Temple of Doom, but still, a film without Marcus Brody?) The ending to the last crusade just capped off the series perfectly, what with those four riding off into the sunset. Any opinions?
Guest MrRant Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I say lets see the premise for the movie. Perhaps a torch will be passed or this will really be the finale.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 One screenplay involved Jones finding his brother. Another (or was it the same one) involved finding the city of Atlantis. Take these for what you will -- this is the Internet after all...
Guest El Satanico Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 It would have to be a very good premise and/or script before i'd even want them to consider it. Before even thinking about wanting them to do a 4th movie I'd want a good director other then Spielberg. I'd also want good cast that has NO "hot teen actor of the month" to go along with old man Harrison Ford. I'd rather someone other then Spielberg to direct just so the movie gets a new spin and look.
Guest redbaron51 Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Indiana Jones: Finding a new Heart (or some kind of organ)
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 No way. I don't want them to kill Indy like many other franchises have been killed off (Star Wars, Batman, etc.).
Guest Some Guy Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 No, Ford is about 60 and that is way too old to star in an action/adventure movie. I just want the DVDs to come out, but Lucas is an ass.
Guest What? Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I would love to see another Jones movie. Since "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was meant to be the final one ("Temple" and "Crusade" were prequels, I heard), than maybe having Indy's son doing all this stuff and....no, that's pretty lame... well, no matter what they decide, I'm still gonna see it, simply because it's Indiana Jones
Guest BorneAgain Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 If Harrison is in the fourth movie I believe they should use the title Conan O'Brian suggested: Indiana Jones and the Comfortable Chair
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 Temple of Doom was a prequel. Last Crusade was not.
Guest redbaron51 Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 No way. I don't want them to kill Indy like many other franchises have been killed off (Star Wars, Batman, etc.). how did star wars franchise been killed off?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 2 relatively craptacular pieces of "film," both of which that were more style over substance (and one of which had JAR JAR BINKS), released as prequels, with a 3rd inevitably on the way.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 4, 2002 Report Posted October 4, 2002 As long as Spielberg and Ford are involved I'd love to see Indy 4
Guest Kagato Otaku Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 I doubt this film would fly even with a good script. I'm quite happy the series ended how and when it did, not having a chance to get "sequeled" out. Anyone else afraid Indy will wave flashlights at the Nazis in the next installment?
Guest DrTom Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 I think a new Indy could work. Sure, Harrison Ford is getting on in years, but who's to say they can't set this one in the early 1950's, when Indy would be 50 or so? Ford could still do a little swashbuckling if he had to, since he certainly doesn't look bad for a man of ~60. The script would be the important part, as well as what motivates a middle-aged Indy to take up the bullwhip and go adventuring again.
Guest MrRant Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 If they have Sean Connery back as the dad... I am THERE.
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 If they have Sean Connery back as the dad... I am THERE. Too right. But... Also, when Harrison Ford was on Conan O'Brian, he said he'd love to do a slapstick comedy. And I'd LOVE to see Harrison Ford doing an Indiana Jones take-off.
