Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 28, 2002 true, but they could have tried something radical like having the match tell a story and when ryhno won in a heelish manner and continues a beat down on the much smaller christian, edge runs in for the save, turning E&C face setting up a new run as a tag team, with christian or edge eventually pulling a more developed heel turn. while meanwhile rhyno is feuding over the IC tittle with a babyface champ. Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 With the Shane storyline, Angle was definitely the heel and just him trying to repeat made anyone he faced a defacto face...at least in that match. The fans did pop when Edge won, so they must have done something right. Dames
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 28, 2002 They should have had the streetfight first. Then once Angle and Shane are just lying there, Christian runs in and quickly pins Angle. He doesn't lose face cos of the street fight and the main doesn't seem so dead because it just followed a public mutilation act. Then have Edge looking over Kurt all concerned and Rhyno comes out and Gores him, kicking Kurt out of the ring, but fails to pin Edge in a timely fashion. Then give the two ten-twelve minutes with Edge selling the ribs. Psychology, storyline, heel-face all in one. Then there is a clear face in the King of the Ring. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 28, 2002 pretty good idea goodhelmet.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I like your scenario a lot Goodhelmet, but storyline wise, the reason Kurt was so brutal to Shane was because he cost him the King of the Ring title. There's ways around it, but they wouldn't have been as beat up, and the match probably wouldnt have been as good as it was. Dames
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I disagree Dames. the hatred was there since Angle olymicSlammed him off the pedestal. If they would have went in this direction, the Smackdown prior to could have seen another heat segment that intensified the feud. sidenote- do you think the writers even bounce ideas and discuss angles with each other or do they just sit there and agree with everything out of SMH's mouth. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 28, 2002 They probably spend their time slack-jawed while drooling over Steph's cleavage...
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 28, 2002 seriously, when we have debates over the wwf' direction, we usually bounce pretty good ideas off of each other (although El Cubano thinks we are just rubes) and someone has to believe in that room that the wwf's ideas suck. I guess while they are staring at Steph, they all have their hands on Vince's and HHH's knobs.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I think that the writers are afraid to tell certain people (steph...vince...hhh) that there ideas suck.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 Goodhelmet, I enjoy bouncing ideas off of you. Most of the time, people dont give me feedback. I wonder how much Heyman speaks up, if at all. Goodhelmet, I like your idea, I really do, but it contradicts Angle's promo's. He made Shane sound like an afterthought that he would take care after he repeated. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 28, 2002 well somebody better start because there have been several situations (invasion, rock's return, trip's return, austin heel turn, nwo maybe) that have fallen through because of bad ideas. Someone better have an epiphany and change their direction quick. WCW fell pray to the same bad judgements and if you don't see the similarity then you are blind bps- next column- comaprison of wcw and wwf and the same mistakes. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 That would be a good column. I'm also thinking about doing one of these: A 4 part examination of the talent roster (Main Eventers, Midcard, Tag Teams, Everyone else) OR I've been thinking about the fact that Mania i in Canada (and I'd like to do a WrestleMania column before the show) What I was thinking was about Jericho, Edge and the rest of the CAnadian talent and how location effects the crowd(especially the Jericho HHH match...after last years botched Austin turn in Texas last year)... I call it: Factoring in the exchange.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 28, 2002 Both sound like solid columns but I'm really interested in seeing the WWF vs. WCW being compared to each other. I'd write it myself but this semester is KICKING MY ASS! On the 4 parter, what does everyone else include? Or how about providing examples of WCW's cruiser past to illustrate how the cruisers were over. That would be alot of research though. "Goodhelmet, I like your idea, I really do, but it contradicts Angle's promo's. He made Shane sound like an afterthought that he would take care after he repeated. " Yeah, i don't remember that far back but i see your point. if they would have booked it my way, he wouldn't have had to think of shane as an afterthought. the king of the ring would be the afterthought because he was so confident he would repeat. oh well, no use crying over spilt milk (or coffee if you're Kane and Jericho. Thanks to those who answered my previous question)
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 Everyone else is the cruisers (I think there are like 2 left) the Jakked/Metal guys...the Women's division. Also the on air talent(ha)...and developmental guys
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 28, 2002 you know, i can't stand RFVideo but from the feedback I got, the ROH show blew away the WWF and WWA product in terms of in ring performance. That would suck if we started pimpin fuckin' Feinstein because Vince is an idiot! us workrate and cruiser freaks may have to find an INdy outlet if the WWf doesn't get their act together. Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I went to ROH...and I don't think Wrestlemania can touch it this year. I wrote about it in the indy forum...great show from top to bottom and the best show I've ever been to. Dames
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 28, 2002 goodhelmet and bps21 i'm already ooking forward to your coloums. i too saw ROH and wrestlemania can't come within in a mile of it.
