Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 2, 2002 Is it?
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted October 2, 2002 Not really. It's fun and all, but really only for a rental. The sequel is coming out soon enough with more match types and Roddy fucking Piper. Plus using your own entrance music is neat. I'll probably get that. Guest mach7 Report post Posted October 2, 2002 The reversal system is pretty cool once you get the hang of it. Plus there are a ton of moves.. way more than WMX8. I actually liked the big cartoony look of the wrestlers, reminds me of old style wrestling games.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 2, 2002 played it on Gamecube and did not like it did not like how the suplex move would be in slow motion then have a camera angle special effect spin in panarama. $5 rental only, then if you like it buy it used
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted October 2, 2002 What do you like about Legends of Wrestling? The counter system was a nice change from what we're used to. Takes some getting used to, but at least you aren't sitting there infuriated because you know you were pressing the counter button as much as possible. It relies entirely on timing. However, reversals/counters happen a tad too often sometimes, especially when you try to behind-the-back manuever. But I liked it. I hated the way moves were executed in RAW. Not the control scheme or grappling engine, just the way the characters would pull off suplexes and powerbombs. That bothered me. It didn't look natural. LoW does a great job at this, IMO. Career mode is something different (again). You essentially start out in territories and win their respective titles. You then move on US and World and that's pretty much it. Though short, I thought it was fun. Your CAW will get points after completing a certain number of matches. The CAW is pretty standard compared to the Smackdown games. But it serves its purpose. The biggest flaw is that you're stuck using only one face. You can't edit/change it. But Flair is pretty easy to make if you want to recreate some Flair/Steamboat, Bret/Flair classics. And while the game is aimed at mostly old school fans, there are plenty of modern moves available for CAWs. The best thing the game has going for it is that it's different. Rent it. If you like it, wait for part 2. If you don't, I guess you can wait for RAW 2.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted October 2, 2002 did not like how the suplex move would be in slow motion then have a camera angle special effect spin in panarama. This would happen to me about once every match. Just saying.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted October 2, 2002 Most people either really like it or really hate it. I like it. But don't get Legends of Wrestling. The second one is coming out soon. The second one doesn't have RVD, but it does have a lot more match type, Eddie Guerrero, Scott Stiener, Sid, Roddy Piper, Andre The Giant, and Andy Kofman. Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 3, 2002 Doesn't Warrior want like $100,000 to be in the game or something? Either that, or every fans prayer to him, whichever he can get I suppose.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Damn, Legends of Wrestling 2 sounds good...I'll probably get that with Raw 2. BTW, I ended up getting the Legends of Wrestling game (not my money) and I really enjoy it. This will hold me off until Raw 2 or Legends of Wrestling 2.
