Guest Matt Young Report post Posted October 2, 2002 Not having a good file sharing program, I just heard this song for the first time at 3:31 this morning on a Music Choice channel. I personally loved the song. Carlos Santana is one of my all-time favorite guitarists, and I am a HUGE Michelle Branch fan... probably her biggest male fan. I know she didn't write the lyrics for this song, but it seems like she did, as the lyrics invoke memories of her hauntingly passionate solo work, except that they are sung over Santana's emotional guitar work and samba-like beats. I can't get enough of this song, and I can't wait for the release of Santana's "Shaman". As a side note, the 2 are set to perform this song Thursday night at the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards. I never thought I'd even consider watching a fashion awards show, but call me Liberace because I'm going to suffer through it for this performance. I can't miss Michelle Branch. What do the rest of you think of this song?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 2, 2002 This Santana + Popular Modern Musician formula sucks. Sucks. I can't even begin to describe the hatred I feel for his collaboration with Rob Thomas a few years ago. That said, I haven't heard this song so I can't comment. Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Report post Posted October 2, 2002 There was nothing wrong with "Smooth," except that it was played out the ass.
