Is There Such A Thing As An Uncarriable Worker?

Recommended Posts

Guest Kibagami

I was reading the thread on the puro board about Liger being the best junior of all time, and a lot of people seem to think he can carry anyone. My question is....is there any wrestler who is COMPLETELY uncarriable? By uncarriable, I mean that Flair in '89 or Liger in '94 couldn't get a good match out of them.

I don't know, myself. Discuss!

David Arquette.

Okay seriously Mabel/Viscera is a good choice.

Hmm Giant Gonzalez was pretty bad. Jackie Gayda is as well. Present day Undertaker is quite wretched.

I really wasn't a fan of Ice Train either.

The thread is about wrestlers who can't be carried...

Oddly enough while the bastard's been a world champ, he's by NO means a wrestler.

The only impression of Mable on my brain is him running to the ring, slipping and falling face first...that's how I want to remember him

Arquette was in a ****1/4 match with DDP and Jarrett IMO even though he did nothing.

I can't think of one good Mabel match

Tiger Jeet Singh and Giant Gonzalez come to mind. I could at least imagine HBK or someone similar dragging a decent one out of Viscera.

shawn could probably get a good match from gonzales doing a sid-type typical "shawn michaels big man match" carry job, with gonzales basically having to do nothing. he was good at that.

Big Show. Big Show comes to mind. The man. Does. NOTHING. In the ring.

Big Show and Sid are both lightyears better than Gonzalez ever was. He's like a slower and clumsier version of them.

Um, wow.

Like, WOW.

So Flair's proverbial broomstick is more talented and bumps better than Gonzales?

Damn, yo.

If you could call those carry jobs...I think they're closer to a mime on pain killers. Without the facepaint. :)

gonzalez. Big show has had entertaining tag matches, but then i mark out for him anyways. Really. And viscera has had 1 or 2 hardcore matches that were good for a laugh.

Flair couldn't carry Gonzallaz in WCW.

Gayda made a scale for bad women's wrestling.

Erik Watts comes to mind with his DROPKICK OF DOOM!

But the worst would be Tiger Jeet Sheigh. Ikoni should get life for bringing this man into pro wrestling.

I'm amazed people still bring up Gayda for having a lousy three minutes in a throwaway tag match.

It was -****. They BLEW every spot. even a fucking simple back bump.

Awful as it was, I don't see it living on in the history of bad wrestling (I bet a lot of people have forgotten that it was a tag match to begin with). At best, it'll be a side note in the overall Tough Enough debacle.

EDIT: Another way I look at it is that Gayda was greener than goose shit and MIGHT improve over time, whereas someone like Mabel/Viscera, given his experience, has no excuse.

Giant Gonzalez is the worst I've seen, but the general consensus seems to be that Tiger Jeet Singh is the worst ever, from all who have seen him (I am lucky that I haven't)

And I still think while Sid can be carried to a **+, maybe *** match by Michaels' bumping, those who rate all the bumpathons at **** are crazy, IMHO. One guy bouncing off another does not a good match make. See the recent Jericho v Hogan.

There were a couple good Nash v Michaels matches, because Nash could actually turn it on if he wanted to, back in the day. Of course he wanted to about literally 1% of the time.

it's not just that shawn bumped around a lot, he told a better story than jericho did. the pacing, timing & overall drama of the 2 are barely even comparable.

I actually found Mabel hilarious when he was challenging for the title. Not in any way good, but funny.

Does something not terribly sneaky and subtle, like whack diesel with a chair.

Gets on mic: 'It's all parta the ROYAL PLAN!' ::Laughs for like a minute for no reason::

He did this like SEVEN TIMES, and apparently the royal plan was: His tag team partner would INTERFERE in the MATCHUP.

FOR MABEL!

I thought the whole Royal Plan angle was delightfully stupid. Too bad it had to lead to a match.

Not running to the ring, but running backstage during an APA vs Hollys Hardcore Tag Match and falling flat on his face. January 2000 Raw I believe is the time date of it. It was GREAT!!!!
