Fatal shooting sprees in my county...

Recommended Posts

Guest Slapnuts00

What a terrifying day it's been here in Montgomerry County Maryland. I was in school when in 4th period we were alerted of a code blue emergency situation (which means there's some imminent danger and doors will be locked and no one is allowed outside). My teach puts on the TV and we're told that FIVE fatal shootings have occurred in areas right in the area we live in. Basically we're in school to police can figure out what the hell is going on. One woman was killed cleaning her car at a gas station, another guy killed driving a taxi, one woman sitting on a bench near a leisure world, another in a parking lot of a mall, one man mowing a lawn. This is scary shit, it's places we go to everyday. At lunch I felt I needed to get in touch with my mom to make sure she's ok, since I knew she'd be out. No answer at home. Call cell phone, again no answer. I'm getting pretty scared now. Luckily I had a meeting with a guidance councelor 6th period and was able to use her phone to call again and luckily my mom was safe at home after a manicure apointment. My dad works on the same street where a couple of the shootings occured in Kensington. Luckily he's ok too, but we won't feel toos afe until he's home. What's really bad is police are checking white trucks that the 2 shooters were traveling in but have no description of the shooters themselves, they're most likely not even in the same car anymore. This is just random shootings, no patterns, different people doing everyday things. At school this was more terrofying than Sept. 11, since this is Right where we live, in streets around my school. They luckily got the all clear to let us go home (amidst a bunch of nervous parents disobeying orders and coming to pick up there kids). Right now there are police traveling on all the roads, but who knows what they'll find. This is such a horrible way to live, it's like what people living in Israel have to deal with. After Sept. 11, I no longer felt safe in my country, after today I don't even feel safe where I live. My mom has lived here for over 30 years and doesn't remember anything like this occuring in Montgomerry county which is just one big suburb really. O well, I feel so helpless. Hopefully something gets done and no one else is killed. This is just insane, I don't want to go anywhere anymore...

My dad uses the gas station that the lady was shot at.

I dunno I was leery walking home from work today, but PG County is pretty far away.

I grew up around tho definitely, Silver Spring.

Pretty scary stuff.

I hope they catch the guys before they can strike again.

That sucks. I heard about it on the radio. I hope they catch and execute the murderer.

Coinicentally, I was driving home last night from my girl's house and came upon a whole bunch of police cars in front of a house about 1/4 mile away from mine. I figured it was a burglary (which would be very unusual in my town) but during the same radio report I mentioned earlier they said it was apparently a murder. This is the first murder in my town since I was in 4th grade in 90 or 91, and that one happened about the same distance away from my house as this one. Strange.

I only remember a couple murders in my hometown, but they were pretty sick. One was with a crossbow.

I heard on the news that the guy (?) doing the shooting is a good shot, too. Scary...

I get down to Montgomery County once a month or so, and I've been to a lot of the places where those people were shot. It's surprising, to say the least, to see shooting sprees in a place like that. I'm just wondering if this is something confined to that county, or if the shooters will take their rampage to other counties in the state.

Well Im in Maryland, normally far far away from Montgomery Co., but just so happens Im currently in Calvert Co baby sitting my cousin. Hmm.

Someone said that if you connect the dots of where the shootings were, you get an arrow pointing to Washington DC...

CNN is now reporting the shootings are the work of a skilled marksman using a high powered rifle.

I hope he stays the fuck away from Virginia.

There was a shooting today in Spotsylvania county in Virginia. There is a manhunt on, but with no real info I don't know how they find him. Im seriously afraid to go anywhere knowing there's a guy with a rifle sniping random people...

A 6th shooting in Washington DC of a 72 year old man has been linked to 4 of the other 5 shootings, proving that the arrow theory was correct.

There is a 33 year old male reported missing by his wife, he's apparently part of a militia and drives a white truck....hmmm.....

THEY CAUGHT HIM! Sort of. The militia guy, Baker was found in Virginia near the lastest shooting and was arrested on an auto theft warrant from Florida, among other warrants. He's being quesitoned. The chief of police was very careful not labeling him a suspect in the case though (they don't want another Atlanta '96 Richard Jewel), but there's so much circumstatial evidence, plus this guy is scum anyway so they'll find something. It's gonna be really interesting when they piece this all together. The good news is I feel safe to go to the store again without fear of getting shot :)

Update: It's not the guy :( Apparently they traced this guy's gun and it had been previously returned and resold, and his car is a blue van not a white truck. Meaning there's still a serial killer loose. Great...

Man, I live quite a few states away from that area, its still kinda scary though... knowing that there is a man out there with a sniper shooting people.. he could be in a different state, city, anywhere... one of my worst fears have come true...all it takes is for one insane, sneaky, and semi intelligent man to put fear in everyone.

I'm supposed to go to D.C. next week for Fall Break.

Should I come up with an excuse, or just try and get arrested?

The latter is probably easier for me.

Just go. Being afraid you'll get shot by a sniper is like not getting your mail during the month of anthrax.

There's LOTS of people in that area. What makes you think you're important enough to get shot? ;)

Although you may want to stay away from any crafting supplies stores just in case.

If you see me near a crafting supply store, you have the right to shoot me.

Technically, this guy's more of a mass murderer than your stereotypical serial killer.

A school shooting in Bowie, MD, at 8:09am this morning may be connected to the sniper killings in Montgomery County and DC. The early reports indicate similar circumstances to the other eight shootings in the region, but until the slug is recovered and tested, no actual connections to the other crimes can be made.

As of 11:00am, the young male wounded in this morning's shooting is alive, but in critical condition.
