Heyman doesn't want Taker/Brock II either

I apologize if this was already posted.

During a recent WWE booking meeting Paul Heyman pushed very strongly for a Brock Lesner vs. Chris Benoit match at No Mercy but as he had no support from anyone else his idea was dismissed.

To be honest I think Brock/UT HIAC is a more attractive match than Brock/Benoit would be. I mean, Benoit might well drag a decent match out of Vanilla Gorilla, but on a show with HHH/Kane as the co main event it would SUCK in terms of drawing.

This is true.

It's a shame that they couldn't have gone with:

Benoit vs. Brock

RVD vs. HHH

I know I'd have ordered.

Brock/UT would have looked somewhat attractive if Taker hadn't treated Lesnar like a joke. I'll be damned if I even considered watching the PPV for that match after last month.

Actually, I think Brock/Taker is better than Benoit

The PPV is likely gonna bomb, and Benoit would have been a too easy scapegoat

Perhaps they're saving Benoit for Survivor Series? Think about it, the ppv hasn't been exactly great over the last few years, it could use a good main event. If not SS, then most likely at the Rumble.

Then Survivor Series would end up being the two main events that I want.

RVD/HHH and Brock/Benoit.

Of course, there is no hoss challenger in there...so that won't happen.

If you ask me, Heyman wanted out of the Taker program after Taker was such an asshole last match. He is incapable of making anyone look good, and therefore gets my vote as one of the worst wrestlers ever.

I thought Survivor Series would be HHH/RVD and Edge/Brock?

I would love to see Benoit/Brock really...

Brock could still be the dominate powerhouse and whatnot, but Benoit fighting back, chopping him down, wrestling 200 MPH...I think it could make a good match. I really think the fans would dig it if given a chance.

THen you have Taker's slow methotical (sp) brawling...BAH!

Brock/UT in a HIAC match won't be good anyway. UT would never sell a bump that wasn't a fall from 4 feet, and Brock is still too green to take a big bump, especially since he was chosen to carry the company for the next few months. Benoit/Brock could actually be good. Oh well.

I think The Undertaker will beat Brock at No Mercy.

Why? It doesn't make any sense. Especially if they tried to have a different mai nevent, it shows that they were planning on having Brock advance past No Mercy anyways.

I think at this point, they need to have Brock wrestle and defeat Undertaker after the proceedings at Vengeance. They already hurt Brock with the nonfinish last month, they cannot have him running from The Undertaker to boot. It doesn't fit the character at all to do so.

If Brock holds that title for any less of a time then the Rumble then that huge push was all for nothing...

For the buildup, King of the Ring, "ending Hogan's career", and chasing Rock out he needs a serious credible title reign.

Maybe Taker will beat on Brock for 30 minutes, have the match won and the his lost brother "Able" will come out to cost him the match.

Good, there is no reason to feed Benoit to TUW

Unless Brock fucks up and Benoit stiffs him.

That'd make it worth it. In a way.

Would Benoit stiff him? Regal would. I SO want to see Regal/Brock just to see Regal lose his patience and pound on TUW

Agreed.

While Brock/Taker has its lame moments, the feud needs a blowoff, and preferably on PPV. It makes no sense to drop it completely so that Brock can start feuding with Benoit, especially when they're in completely different storylines. I don't even WANT Benoit to be put into the main event mix so soon and sudden like that - otherwise you get a situation similar to what we just saw with Bubba Dudley.

I see Brock/Edge for Survivor Series, and maybe Brock/Benoit for Armageddon. Brock needs to hold on to the title until Wrestlemania (and drop it to Angle) to bring back some importance to the title after the three one-month reigns and the one two-month reign we have already seen this year.

Yes, because keeping the belt on a terrible champion just so have a long reign is a good idea.

It always has been.

Remember how good business was when Nash was champion?

DO YOU?

I disagree.

DDP may have been slaughtered...

but he wasn't the champion of the company with 20 years left in the idustry.

I can't say if it's a worse idea than passing it from bad champion to bad champion every month.

Well, with the exception of Rock, if the numbers are any indication. But we all know why he was given the belt in the first place.

Guest El Psycho Diablo

Yeah, because unlike 'Taker or HHH..Rock was nice enough to be sacrificed to an undeserving rookie.

Guest Mulatto Heat

And he's a bigger name than either of them, making the sacrifice mean more.

::Looks at Angle and Benoit doing nothing::

We HAVE good champions that are being wasted because Vince thinks they are too small.

Don't forget Guerrero.

Anyways, what can I say? That's Vince's mentality. I can't change it from where I sit (little JRism there).

But they are saving Angle so that it means something. It's clear... at least to me.
