Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 3, 2002 Here's some scary stats on a guy that was traded in the division for 1 first round pick: 116-165 (70.3% completion) 1345 yards 10 TDs 2 INTs (none in the last 3 games) 109.8 QB rating Living in Buffalo I've gotten to see every game this year...and I'm in awe of this man. The Bills would be 0-4 without him...and if the D and special teams could just be average, they could be 4-0 with him. But they are 2-2, and they are averaging 2 more TDs a game with him than last year. Some of these #s are simply ridiculous, especially when they handed off to Henry for a few TDs in the red zone. Guest Y2BigJ Report post Posted October 3, 2002 As a Pats fan, I have seen Drew's whole career and i knew he would be a great addition for the Bills. The question that is going to be on on ever Pats fan is Brady or Drew? Even though I am a huge Brady fan I will always be a member of the Drew Crew.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted October 3, 2002 Bledsoe is great, but I probably would have given it to Priest Holmes. I'm just glad (as a Packers fan), that the Bears didn't get Bledsoe when they had the chance.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 3, 2002 Well...Brady and Bledsoe are two of the best maybe 3 QBs in the AFC (along with Gannon) So New England had a hell of a surplus at the spot.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 3, 2002 well this Sunday we shall see who is the best AFC QB when the Raiders play the Bills Gannon has a rating of about 100 with 69.5% completion
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I'm looking forward to it. The Bills D should let Gannon and his crew have their way on Sunday. But Bledsoe hasn't been stopped by the other team yet. It's shaping up to be another shoot-out.
Guest Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I really hope I get Oakland-Buffalo and not Pittsburgh-New Orleans. I think Charlie Garner can bust a few big runs on the Bills, and Oakland had 2 returns for TD's last week, which is a problem Buffalo has. Bledsoe will definitely get his yards, especially with Woodson still out, but I think Oakland will control most of the game.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I hope it doesn't go to OT. I'm getting kind of sick of that.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 4, 2002 the game will probably come down to who has the better special teams and kicker. Or it could be a game that focuses on ball control with the RBs running the clock down, you never know. OT is good for padding the stats
Guest Y2BigJ Report post Posted October 4, 2002 J wondering has anyone seen the Mo Lewis hit on Bledsoe last year? I was watching the Pats Superbowl DVD the other day and noticed Drew dropping the ball before he even got hit. I know how hurt he was after the hit but it is classic Drew comedy up there with him chewing gum at the superbowl and the grenade pass in the AFC championship game. Guest Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Oakland is a better team than Jets, Minnesota & Chicago, so I think they should win relatively easily in regulation.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 4, 2002 They can be the best team ever...but tel me how they gameplan for the Bills. The offense has put points on the board both through the air and on the ground. The D can go from a few consecutive three and outs to allowing a couple consecutive long drives...then go back to allowing nothing. The special teams either allows a ton of points, or makes the critical FG, or runs something back, or punts the longest punt of the year. That's why the line on the game has the Raiders only favored by 3. Who knows what kind of team the Bills are yet? They play a completely different game every week but always keep it close enough to strike
Guest Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2002 If I were the Raiders', I'd focus on controlling the TOP. 1) Run the ball more. They have got to use Wheatley more, because he's killed the Bills before. Try to set up Garner for a big run late in the game. 2) 3 WR sets. Pick on Chris Watson, all day. He's nowhere near NFL material, ask Mike Shanahan. The Bills have shown nothing to be able to counter that, either. On defense, even with Woodson out, the Raiders have better corners than any team the Bills have faced so far. The Raiders also have one of the best Run D's in the league, so I expect little from Henry. I don't think the Raiders can stop the Bills' offense completely, but I do think they can limit them having many good chances to score.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Well...it's obvious that three WR sets have worked against the Bills, however they haven't worked well enough to get a comfortable lead on the Bills. Had Henry not given up a TD against the Broncos, who knows if they need teh onside kick...hell had Shanahan not gone on 4th and 5, the Bills probably would have won too. For as many mistakes as they have made, the Bills always seem 1 mistake away from winning...but haven't been capable of forcing that mistake (IE zero INTs) The Bears tried to run and got stopped, so they turned to the three WR set and even though Watson got beat constantly, it was when they pulled him and put in Jason Bostic that the Bears were able to throw a big pass. I just don't see this game being anything but close, until someone proves that they can stop Drew. He's done it with and without a running game, with and without being pressured. I see a shootout that comes down to the end.
Guest Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I can't explain why the Bears couldn't run last week, but that defense can be run on. Watson was burned badly on 1 play, but he held up his receiver. He mostly plays the slot receiver, so he won't be burned deep often. He's weak against the shorter patterns, and that's what Rice and Brown thrive on. The Bills were never really in that game with the Broncos. It ended close, but Griese was way off early, and then Portis ran wild over them. Everytime the Bills made it a 1 possession game, the Broncs answered. I don't think the Raiders can stop Drew, but I think they can control him. I don't think you'll see the long passes Moulds caught last week, and I don't think you'll see as many offensive possessions, because the Raiders will not be going 3 and out much. It's all just speculation on my part. In the NFL today, anything can happen, and you probably know more about the Bills seeing you're from Buffalo. I just think the Raiders are a more complete team than anyone the Bills have faced, and that will be enough to win.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 4, 2002 If the Bills can not make so many stupid penalties (and I think they are the most penalized team in the league...and so many are for first downs) and Henry can not lay the fucking ball down AGAIN...then I like the Bills chances. They've just made SO many mistakes that it's a wonder they are at .
Guest fazzle Report post Posted October 5, 2002 Living in Buffalo I've gotten to see every game this year. I hate you. I've had to listen to every Bills game on the NFL.com internet radio. Even the week 1 game against the Jets, that was getting national coverage, didn't get shown here. No, instead they had to show the fucking Panthers. They were playing IN Carolina, so it should have been considered an NFC game, and broadcast on FOX, so it wouldn't have screwed with the Bills, but NO, they had to play the fucking Panthers on CBS. I don't care if they're 3-1 this year, they're still the fucking Panthers. I don't want to see them every goddamned week! Even this week, the Bills game isn't on, instead the NE/Miami game is on. Bah, back to Van Miller it is!
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted October 5, 2002 I love watching the Bills play. I still say the Minnesota/Buffalo game was one of the best ever. Soooo many little things to make it awesome. Oh, and I'm going to stand beside the fact that "NFL Sunday Ticket" is the greatest invention ever. Living near Pittsburgh, I'd get stuck with the Steelers getting beat up by N'awlins. But now, I get Pats/Dolphins and all other levels of goodness. woooooo.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted October 5, 2002 I agree with Alina about Wheatly. Two years ago, the Raidahs were the best running team in the league by far, and they had 5 backs who would get carries every game. Now Garner is the only one who plays and he's most dangerous recieving. Of course, they may not need to run the way Gannon's playing. Most likely we're looking at another shootout, just like every Bills game it seems. And Alina, the reason the Bears couldn't run is because the Bears can't run. So far the've been shut down by the Vikings, the Falcons, the Saints, and the Bills trying to run the ball. Fearsome defenses there. And since special teams seem to play a big part in this game, I thought I'd point out that Janikowski got pulled over for drunk driving tonight. Now, Janikowski strikes me as a guy who has probably played drunk, but you never know if he'll be suspended or arrested or whatever.
Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted October 5, 2002 Hey, anybody can stop the run if they know it's coming. The Bears have been real predictable with their running plays this year, and I don't care how bad your defense is, if you put an eighth guy in the box, you'll stop the run. Plus, A-Train started hesitating in the backfield, and that's just death. Frankly, I don't know why they don't throw more. Marty Booker is one of the top ten receivers in the game today, Marcus Robinson is too when healthy, Dez White has improved greatly, and David Terrell seems to have found his niche near the red zone. I know Miller doesn't have a great arm, but so what? You don't nbeed a cannon to throw the ball downfield. Throw a ton of intermediate routes, then. LUNATIC - Pimpin' ho's and clockin' a grip like my name was Dolemite.
