Their miserable candidate was losing, so the DNC gets him to withdraw and puts up someone else in his place. Hello, Earth to Democrats? Democrats, this is Houston. You don't get to do this. Elections don't count only if you win, guys. You can't bet on a moron and then change the rules as soon as he falls behind in the polls. And when you lose you don't get to demand recounts until you win. Really, the Democratic Party's name is looking more and more ironic every day. "Stalinist" would be a better fit. The dems are just being selfish, whiny, pains in the ass on this issue

They just went through with the new Lautenberg nomination without even acknowledging the possible legal and ethical repercussions. I'm at a loss for what goes through the mind of a Democrat. And when (hopefully) this issue is overturned by a fed. court (or the BIG court) all the Dem. "leaders" will bitch about judical activism, and say conservatives HATE it when activism is used in any other case. Of course, much like in Fla., the state court overstepped its bounds. This ain't baseball, NJ Dems -- you can't bring in a reliever in the ninth inning when your starter is out of gas...

So, if that's correct, I don't see why he doesn't step down now.

Republicans actually have respect for both the rule of law and the intergrity of the electoral process. Democrats have been showing for two years that they possess neither of those traits.
