FORMER WWF /WCW SUPERSTAR TO STEP INSIDE A DIFFERENT RING

Brian Adams’ Professional Boxing Debut Set for Nov. 16th Pay-Per-View

St. Petersburg, October 3, 2002 – Brian Adams, former WWF and WCW professional wrestling superstar, will be making his professional heavyweight boxing debut on the “Never Surrender” pay-per-view event November 16th. This championship card, headlined by the World Boxing Council Featherweight World Title fight between Erik “El Terrible” Morales and Paulie Ayala, is promoted by Bob Arum and Top Rank, Inc. and will emanate from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

Brian Adams (6’6”, 270 pounds) currently holds the All Japan World Tag-Team Championship along with partner Bryan Clark, having defeated Keiji Mutoh & Taiyo Kea on July 17, 2002 in Osaka. Adams, who has had a long and successful career in professional wrestling, is looking to make a huge impact on the boxing world.

Adams has received glowing evaluations from several trainers in the St. Petersburg area, and is currently being trained by Dan Birmingham. “I’ve never felt anyone hit the mitts so hard,” Birmingham stated. “He takes this very seriously… and I think he’s going to impress a lot of people.” Among Birmingham’s other impressive charges is IBF Junior Middleweight Champion Winky Wright.

Adams will be challenging an as-yet unnamed heavyweight opponent in what is being billed as a special attraction on the “Never Surrender” pay-per-view November 16th. As an added bonus, “Macho Man” Randy Savage – former WWF/WCW World Champion – will be in Brian Adams’ corner, cheering his close friend on in his professional boxing debut.

In addition to Brian Adams’ debut and Morales vs. Ayala for WBC Featherweight World Title match, the “Never Surrender” pay-per-view event on November 16th will also see Bones Adams face Guty Espadas in a showcase of two former world champions battling it out in a featherweight match-up. Also, WBC lightweight flyweight champion Jorge Arce will make a title defense -- his opponent will be announced.

Tickets for this night of boxing are priced at $300, $200, $100 & $50 and can be purchased at the Mandalay Bay Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. To charge by phone call (702) 632-7580. Tickets on sale now.

The “Never Surrender” pay-per-view telecast on November 16th is being produced and distributed by HBO Pay-Per-View and will be available to over 48 million pay-per-view homes. The “Never Surrender” pay-per-view telecast begins at 9pm ET/6 pm PT and carries a suggested retail price of $39.95. HBO Pay-Per-View is the leading supplier of event programming to the pay-per-view industry.
