Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Smackdown last night delivered a 3.6 rating for the second straight week. wrestlingobserver.com
Guest thesmartmark Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Smackdown was kind of a let down from last week. But then again that ladder match kicked ass!
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 4, 2002 It was an especially good ladder match when you consider that it wasn't a ladder match at all.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Dammit, if it keeps pulling almost identical ratings as Raw, they won't make any attempt to make Raw better! ARGH!!!! I still like Raw more, despite being an inferior program. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 4, 2002 RAW's not getting identical ratings. There's like a 600,000 person difference or so.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Raw isn't getting 3.4-3.6 ratings? Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I still like Raw more, despite being an inferior program. ... Care to explain that? And it's a shame that Smackdown isn't pulling in higher ratings...that way, the front office would definitely GET A FREAKING CLUE and try the same formula for future episodes and *gasp* RAW. Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Raw is on cable and Smackdown is on network tv. While the ratings look identical, Smackdown is actually doing a higher rating.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I think Smackdown is being brought down with Raw. Casual fans watch Raw and it sucks and they think Smackdown will be the same.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Aha, makes sense. I should have thought of that. As I explained to a friend of mine, I just like Raw more because it's the "flagship program" of the company and live, has Booker, RVD, Hurricane, Goldust, Storm, and the retro WCW stuff on it. I just always find myself looking forward to Raw a helluva lot more than Smackdown. Hard to explain. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I like Raw more too, but only because of Bischoff and Booker T.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I felt that exact way, Kotz, until Smackdown started being consistently fantastic. They have all the tools on RAW to make it almost as good, but they won't for reasons expressed on this board ad nauseam.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Damn, I forgot Bischoff in my reasons. He's probably reason #1 I still love Raw. He's just SO DAMN ENTERTAINING. And I acknowledge that Smackdown has been OFF DA HEEZY for the last couple of months, but it had to happen considering the workers they have on there eventually. Fortunately, we have Undertaker there to balance it all out. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 4, 2002 That's another thing they've been doing right, actually. Undertaker gets maybe ten minutes to push the Brock feud along and then Edge/Angle/Benoit/Mysterio/Guerrero get about forty minutes combined, maybe more. Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Works for me. Bischoff, Booker, RVD and Goldust certainly are awesome, but they simply aren't enough to overcome the greatness of Smackdown. *stares at Kylie longingly*
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I watch RAW more than Smackdown, but that's mostly because it's live. If it were pre-taped, I'd pretty much stop watching the WWE altogether (with the exception of a few SD matches). It's just week in and out I keep hoping they'll elevate someone. Instead the most entertaining performers on the show are fed to, well, not entertaining performers. That's the only thing that keeps me from switching to something else on Mondays. Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I forgot about it being live. That is a reason I prefer Raw too. It has an anything can happen type feel to it, even though nothing happens usually and all the matches are predictable.
