Guest Incandenza Report post Posted October 4, 2002 My latest "Such a Scream" (read it here) column was a little on the lengthy side, so I did a little trimming. It's on John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, and while what remained deserves everyone's attention, what I cut out does, too. Here ya go: Famous women received a similar treatment. Whitney Houston--minus the crack addict lunacy she currently sports--has attractive features, but, because I remember her being all big haired and 80s'ed out in her videos for " I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "How Will I Know," I've never felt desire for her. On the other hand, I recall when a squeaky clean, freshly scrubbed Kylie Minogue had all of America doing the locomotion almost 15 years ago, but I can barely reconcile the innocent teenager Kylie of then with the groin-exciting sexbomb Kylie of today. I'd hit it now, oh yes I would.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I'd hit the one back then too. What's YOUR problem? I weep that Kylie tidbit was cut out, but I'm very glad that it wasn't lost. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted October 4, 2002 I cut it because I was rambling a lot more than I usually do. Still, I was proud of it, and knew it had to be seen. Oh yes.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 4, 2002 Spiffy article, as it has warned me NOT to get that album. I'm not too keen on listening to people's pain in music with words. Fortunately, any music I have that does that now is so hopelessly overblown that you know they aren't hurting THAT much. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 5, 2002 I've only read the first paragraph and I'm already offended beyond belief.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted October 5, 2002 HA! Er...I mean I have no idea why.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 5, 2002 But, yeah, it's a great album. I was always a little puzzled by the Cookie Monster cameo in the second song, though. And while the seemingly endless bellowing in "Well Well Well" may resonate emotionally, it ain't all that pleasent to listen to. Other than that, it's great. Good review, too. At least one of us is contributing something.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted October 5, 2002 Thanks. Considering this is the first "Such a Scream" column I've written in two months (not including the two forgettable news reports), it isn't like I'm bringing da content.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 5, 2002 I'll be BRINGING THE CONTENT~! sometime mid-next week with the Kylie column. Damn car work is sapping all of my energy. But it'll be SO worth it in the end... Kylie Article + BLACK MANTA~! = RATINGS!!! Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted October 6, 2002 Hey Inc... is this "cut footage" going to be a regular feature? Because I think that'd be cool, since I never cut anything from my reviews (of which I will write another soon, honest... I just gotta bring da schoolwork before I bring da content). In fact, if anything, I'm like one of those Filipino z-grade horror films where they just chop a bunch of other movies together and recut them with little, if any, logic or attempts at plot. Guest Incandenza Report post Posted October 6, 2002 Nah. Stuff that gets dropped stays dropped. I only put it here because I knew Kotz would enjoy the Kylie reference.

Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge get the album, you owe it to yourself. it was lennon's absolute peak as a songwriter and vocalist.
