He Curtain jerked Summerslam.

Bret/Owen curtain jerked Wrestlemania and had one of the grestest matches ever. Hell, it got Owen over more then ever and ditto with Bret. Does anyone talk about how it was stupid they opened Mania? No, they talk about how it was one of the best damn matches ever.

Bret also main evented that show. Angle went in, had his match, and left.

 

On top of that, Bret bounced from stupid midcard feuds back to the main event ALOT after that. Maybe if they established him as a real main eventer and not just the guy they use when they have nothing better to do, ratings would have been better. And don't deny that they use Kurt like that now.

 

Rock/Hogan. No titles, and people talk about that more then the main event from Mania.

 

Because it was the Rock and Hulk Hogan! Two guys they bothered to establish as super duper tippity top main eventers over their careers. Angle and Benoit need to get the belt before they are on that level. Right now, they are a midcard feud. Maybe after a run with the belt and a feud, they can have non title feuds that are not obviously midcard.

So just gut it out cause if your saying Kurt's on Bret's path as far as success goes....he'll have a hell of a carrer (not like he already hasn't had one).
