I can't believe I'm about to say this

My take:

JR: Either he's getting older or totally disinterested in the product (maybe both), but his commentary comes off as bored to me. Is ok at his better moments these days. Occasionally gets lost and says something that suggests he's observing life on Mars, rather than wrestling.

Lawler: For a time this guy was the Undisputed Guy I'd Most Like to See Leave Wrestling Forever title holder. His screaming at the sight of tits not only was nails and chalkboard irritating, it would disrupt JR's commentary and completely undermine whatever matches were going on. He's been improving lately though, and doing the things heel commentators do. Still reverts to Grade 4 from time to time.

Cole: I used to hate him, and he still says things which suggest that he's got a copy of "Wrestling for Dummies" in his lap, but he's probably the most improved of the commentators. Tends to use his cliches over and over.

Tazz: Not bad. Like Cole tends to overuse phrases, but always does his best to get the wrestlers over. At Rey's debut, he actually talked about the Lucha mask traditions briefly. Would JR or Lawler do that?

As for the whore shilling for sponsors and PPVs, all four are guilty of it, and that's the writers' fault. They make the commentators say them, and they have to be said. The writers should work at writing them in more smoothly, and not when something is going on in the ring.

Obviously you can't please everybody but Heyman came colsest. Almost everyone thought he was better than the King.

Bring him Back.
