Guest BifEverchad Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 Two new cast members are joining NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in time for the season's opening show this week. Fred Armisen and Will Forte will replace Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer, two longtime cast members who have left the show. NBC made the announcement Wednesday. Armisen has appeared on NBC's "Late Night" with Conan O'Brien, a former "SNL" writer. He's also been on HBO's music show "Reverb" and done work on "HBO Zone." Forte comes from Los Angeles' improv outfit The Groundlings, a troupe that's a frequent farm team for "SNL." Cast members Chris Kattan, Chris Parnell and Maya Rudolph all got their start there. He's also been a television producer and wrote for David Letterman's "Late Show." This week's debut features host Matt Damon and musical guests Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 I never have seen any of those two, but no one can replace Will f'n Ferrel for me.
Guest bob_barron Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 I review the show for some websites so I may post my review up tomorrow. Bob Barron- The SNL Almanac
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 Will Ferrel should kill them both, and make them choose Potent Potables on Celebrity Jeopardy
Guest bob_barron Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 I'm happy Will Ferrell left. He had been on the show for a long time and done everything he needed to do. The loss of Adam McKay really hurt him in last season and he just wasn't as funny as he had been in previous seasons. I'm glad he left before he became a complete embarassement like Darrell and Kattan. Plus- I got to see his last show!!!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 This week's debut features host Matt Damon and musical guests Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Two new cast members? Who cares... I'll watch for The Boss!
Guest bob_barron Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 He'll probably be good tonight but next week is- Faith Hill!!!!!
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 A little bit of my predicting for next week's SNL... "And fans rioted and murdered singer Faith Hill after realizing that nothing could top Bruce Springsteen's performance last week."
Guest Dmann2000 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Anyone watching SNL right now? It's pretty good so far
