Leftovers from past gimmicks...

Recommended Posts

Hardcore Holly stayed Hardcore Holly even after he stopped competing for that title...and wrestling any such matches. Who the hell came up with that name for him anyway?

I think Lawler blurted it out while Bob Holly first attacked his then fellow JOB-Squader, Al Snow.

As for names, "Fame-Asser" and "The One and Only" are still the names of Billy Gunn's signature moves, yet both of those gimmicks are long dead. I guess "Fame-Asser" might have still worked before last month.

Another good one, although its sad that due to the fact that he's been using it so long, that move is going to be known mostly as the Fameasser, although Johnny Ace invented it (Guillotine Ace Crusher) and Marty Jannetty made it famous in the US (Rocker Dropper).

Which is why I always call it the Rocker Dropper or the GAC.

Here's an obscure one--Albert's Baldo Bomb. He was called Baldo or something similar to that in the indies. Surprised Buffybeast hasn't mentioned it...

Chuck Palumbo still calls his finisher the Jungle Kick long after his jungle gimmick died.

Yeah...I don't think I've heard the "Hearst" mentioned at all in years.

Ah, but the "Hearst" did make a very rare special appearance a while ago in a Jericho-HHH Dueling Promo when Chris said, "Oh, you're Hunter Hearst HILARIOUS!"

Remember when Undertaker kidnapped Austin and drove to a grave yard with him in the back of a Hearst?

Another obvious one I should have thought of since I brought up the Ministry--the Undertaker. A demin-wearing biker talking up about respect blah blah and snorting all the time doesn't really make me think of a mortician. The name didn't make much sense as a zombie or as a cult leader either.

Actually, I have to disagree with you a tiny bit there.

In my opinion...I sorta can see a biker named the Undertaker. Kinda like a respectful nickname to bikers.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Old-School Taker better. But still...

Was it Patty Hearst?

HHH's finisher is called the Pedigree, yet his Greenwich snob days are long dead.

Maybe he keeps it because that's his favorite food?

It would explain why he's been dogging it.

Zings-a-plenty for the Game!

Triple H walks into a bar, poses, and spits beer.
