Guest Youre Gonna Learn Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Yeah, so I'm about to head out and purchase this game. Has anyone already played it? I hear it's the "Gran Turismo of arcade racing", which is quite the compliment. So, discuss the Need For Speed series.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I tried the demo for Ps2, and let me tell you, the game looks good. The graphics are damn good, and the racing is awesome. The police chases are extreme. Helicopters drop barrels onto you to slow you down. It is a must buy.
Guest crandamaniac Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Just got the game today, haven't played it that much, but it is awesome. The only downside to it is that it's really easy unless you really ramp up the difficulty
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 According to the gaming mags, the PS2 version is far superior to either the GC or XBOX version. How'd that happen?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 It's EA, right? They do nothing to up the graphics on superior consoles. So a PS2 port on the Xbox will still look like a PS2 port.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I don't think it had to do with graphics, they just said that it plays faster, tighter and better all around.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Who knows, then? Could be EA just slapped it to the other two systems without tweaking it any.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 They used a different engine for the GCN, PC and XBOX versions. The PS2 engine was developed by another team. Don't ask me why, it's EA.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I wonder if EA will give wrestling games another try? *shudders*
Guest crandamaniac Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I think they're making that Def Jam Wrestling game, in conjunction with AKI, the makers of the N64 WWF games.
